Is there such a thing as homosexual cats? If there is, I think Smokey
may be gay. I know homosexuality is as normal among some species as it
is among humans. My daughter once spent several days observing gay
monkies at the zoo for a report in a Primatology class. The reason I
think Smokey may be gay is because of the way he sniffs butt. When he
sniffs Fluffy, a female, he justs smells her, but when he sniffs Kitty,
a male, he tries to lick Kitty's private parts.
He could be just trying to groom Kitty, as they do groom each other,
but he seems to have an different attitude when he tries to do this
butt licking. Kitty won't have any part of it and always turns around
and swats him on the head.

No, your cat is not gay, lol. What he is doing is showing dominance. It is
not sexual.

So that is why Sebastian does that to kitten Julian?! How is that showing
dominance? I'm not a cat so I find it kind of disgusting.
Thanks!

Sebastian is showing Julian that he is the top cat, so to speak. It's his way
of showing him that he is the dominant cat. Maybe he won't do it as much once
the pecking order is established and once Julian is an adult and also once
Julian is neutered if he's not already.

Hey... the cat's gay. The man said so. Why can't you just ACCEPT
it...? What's wrong with YOU, anyway....?? Intolerant? Homophobic? The
male cat has nasty butt fantasies about another male cat. What else
could it be..?

Thanks for your informative reply! Julian came neutered when I got him at 5
months old. I do think Sebastian is teaching him that he is top cat; I just
didn't realize this was part of the training. When Sebastian did that to
Zoe (who went to the Bridge in Nov.) he would just mock mount her. Julian
is in the pipsqueak phase and testing his limits with Sebastian. I'm
concerned Sebastian picked up Julian's bacteria infection that way. Julian
was on Flagyl but that upsets Sebastian's stomach so we're trying to treat
it in other ways on him.

If you were a dog or cat, you'd understand. Even female dogs assert
dominance in this why. It doesn't matter how or why -- they understand
that. It just matters that you understand what they're doing.

Most people react to animals as those they were little people with
little people values. There's nothing disgusting about a natural
behaviour.

I once witnessed my climbing partner's female black lab mount and hump their
huge, orange, male tabby cat.

I would think that a huge orange cat would be vastly more attractive
than my hairy leg encased in a pair of dirty jeans, but my neighbor's
dog seems to prefer my leg.

I think that human faggotz are even more mixed up than the dog you
describe. At least it wasn't queer. It somehow knew that the
male/female thing was the right thing to do.

And if you'd quit responding to him, I wouldn't have to read his comments
at all! Just kill file him, CP, and we'll both be happier.

Not necessarily. One can read a killfiled poster's comments through the
quoting of another person's message - who hasn't killfiled that poster.

When I first got Midnight (before he had his balls cut off) he used to
pounce on and try to mount Cody, but I think it was just a dominance
thing. Or maybe they take after their owner ;)

Mental Illness knows no species boundries, Fred, so I wouldn't be the
least bit suprised. Then again, it could be all in your head. Maybe
YOU just need to come out...?
I hear that there's even an HIV for katz, too. God doesn't miss a
single deserving thing, does he..?!
