We took Bubbas to the emergency hospital last night and put him to
sleep. He went downhill so fast, even Friday he was doing okay and then
just deteriorated before our eyes. We couldn't let him suffer. We're
going out to bury him at my parents' farm and plant a native dogwood
there in his memory. I can't believe he's gone, he was the best dog I
could have ever asked for. The kitties had a good big brother and they
seem to miss him too. I'll miss seeing his sweet face when I come home
and how he'd wriggle about and wag his tail as fast as it could go.
Nothing makes you feel better than knowing you make someone's day just
by being there. Thank god I have the kitties or I don't know what I'd do.

I want to thank all the kind words you've all sent. I tried to respond
to each one, but it seems one of the servers I post from was not
actually posting. So for those who did not get a response, you did - it
just didn't show. :)

Love,

Karen

I'm so sorry for your loss, Karen. I know you'll miss Bubbas terribly.
It is so hard. I am glad you made sure that he did not suffer. My
heart is with you.

My sympathies.  I'm sorry his time turned out to be so short, post
diagnosis.  Otoh, am glad it was not a prolonged deal for either you or him
at the end; IOW, that he felt quite good so near to the time of his death.

Karen,

I can't tell you how sorry I am.  :(  You were a wonderful, loving mommy to
Bubbas.  Don't ever doubt that he knew he was adored.

You are in my thoughts...

Karen, I was looking at some poems on petloss.com and I hope I can post
this because I can't see through the mascara burning my eyes now.

I haven't had many losses that hurt me as much as first my Marley, and then
my son. In both cases I had to cry and cry to feel better. It takes such a
long time to feel better. I know I posted before but I have been thinking
about you and hurting with you.

I am *so* sorry for your loss. We all know how much you loved him. I'm
sure he knew, too.

Karen,
I know you were dreading that moment.  The memories are painful, but please
remember to keep the good memories in your heart and cherish them and
eventually you will receive comfort as well.
Hugs,
Annie

I'm very, very sorry, Karen.  That was soooo fast so I understand how shocked
you must be.  My thoughts and prayers are with you, how very sad.  It was kind
of you to let him go.
