My mother's cat (age 14) has started losing a lot of fur around her tail on
her back. She has always had dry skin there but after showing the vet, she
suggested a few drops of oil in her food (can't remember what kind) and that
seemed to help.
Lately, she's been losing more fur than usual. No change in diet, she is
frisky as ever... but her hair is coming out in small clumps and she doesn't
even flinch as it is done.
She does have an appointment at the vet but I wanted a few ideas before
going

At that age, be sure to get a thyroid test done. Keep us posted.
