One of my cats has been vomiting today... it smells like poop.  He
hasn't eaten or drank anything all day and he is walking very gingerly.  Is
this a sign of something serious?  Any info would be appreciated.
     Thanks,
     CCL

I have no idea what it is, but it certainly doesn't sound good.  Vet appt.
in order, right away, IMO.

I agree.  No one here can diagnose kitty so you should definitely take him to
the vet.

Sounds like the vomit is digested food and perhaps means a blockage.  VET!!

Thank you Cheryl and Cathy.  I am planning on calling vet in a.m.  He is
still peeing and pooping. (the cat, not the vet, well I guess the vet is
too, lol) We just lost one to Fatty Liver Disease.   You can see my cat page
at http://crazycatlady.home.comcast.net  Sauvignon is the one we just lost
to fatty liver disease (three weeks ago) and Milkman is the one that is sick
right now.

Good.  My Shadow is a survivor of Fatty Liver Disease. It was hard.
Feeding tube et al. He went from his fat weight of 18lbs to 12lbs in a
short period of time when he got anorexic. He is back up, and in fact
heavier due to steroids but hepatic lipidosis (fatty liver) is always at
the front of my mind.  I'm sorry for your loss.  :(
