Tiger (4 1/2 year old Maine Coon (?)) had accumulated too much hair etc
(!) around his butt so he had to go to the vet for a trim. He did not
cooperate and got more and more violent, finally getting away from us
and hiding under a cabinet. The only way the vet could get him out was
to put a fish net over him, pull him out and give him a tranquilizer.
After he calmed down, (Tiger that is), the clipping was completed
followed by a vigorous combing to remove excess hair. I brought Tiger
home and kept him in the carrier for a few hours. When I let him out he
wanted nothing to do with me. When I got close, he would spit and
growl. This continued until I went to bed about 9 PM. At midnight, he
jumped up on the bed and went to sleep curled up against me. This
morning, he was back to normal. His hissy fit lasted about 14 hours.
Tiger is a BIG boy (23 pounds) and is a bit frightening when he is
angry. Now he is probably 22 pounds (minus a pound of hair etc.) and
smells MUCH better.

But isn't being de-stinked worth 14 hours of pissoffedness? ;x)

He probably feels better too, although he's probably loath to admit it!

Oh dear. Mine like getting their butt shaved. That's quite a reaction. Hope
it lasts a while so he doesn't have to go back.

Shadow seems to like his shaved, too. He runs around more and doesn't spend
hours trying to clean what he can't get off him.

Maybe it's the fresh breeze that he likes. Kinda like skinny dipping.
