Kittens update:
We had to take the brood to the vet due to one having a gooey eye. We found
out the one is showing signs of URI and so the vet put them all on Amoxi drops.
We have moved them and blocked off the area where she was keeping them and also
bought one of the Snuggle Safes that Karen was so wonderful to recommend. We
might replace that with a heating pad now that we can plug one in just to make
sure that they are warm enough.
We found out that Momma only has milk in three teats and they are not as
full as they should be. So we are hand feeding the runt almost full time and
the others twice a day. The vet said that Momma looks great and is not anemic.
We are feeding her dry KMR in with her Pro Plan Kitten food to see if it will
help.
The one Gooey eyed baby was dehydrated and had to have a water pocket put
in they also fed her by a feeding tube and seems to be doing better now. She
has taken to the syringe ok but hates the bottle..
I will keep you all posted of their progress. Thanks everyone for the
advise it helped so very much.

Please do. So many posters just disappear after their initial
questions, and I always wonder what happened to the kitties.

She'll probably take to the bottle when she's a little older. One of our 4
that we were bottle feeding last fall was slow to take to the bottle but did
get the hang of it and ultimately did just fine.
Keep us posted.
