Subject: Spraying--Desperate Need of Help!

Help!
My 1yr old female is spraying all around my new house. She is in heat, but
the vet says that it's not related to her spraying. She will be spayed in 2
weeks. I read the posting about Odokill and Odokleen and will be getting
those today. I need some solution/repellent to stop this behavior. I have
a water spray bottle, but I can never catch her in the act.
She sprays on hard objects, walls, refrigerator, table, entertainment
center, plants (dying).
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Pat
I would personally change vets if one told me that! OF COURSE it's related
to her being in heat, and the sooner you have her spayed the better for all
concerned. Some vets don't like spaying during heat, but it can be done,
and will shorten the time you have to put up with all of the associated
behaviors. Call around and ask for a sooner appointment with a different
vet.

My cat Mimi was in heat for two months. Some cats stay in heat until they "get
some." Spaying was the only thing that helped my Mimi. She did not spray when
she was in heat. She has never sprayed.
Is there another cat, dog in the house, outside? I was told that spraying is a
territory, psychological thing. If so, she could be reacting to this and being
in heat just isn't helping. I know male cats are more likely to spray if they
are not neutered. Neutering male cats can help. I don't know about female cats.
