"Cold Case" Cat Lover

Brandy?Alexandre - 20 Jan 2004 00:32 GMT I didn't see anyone mention it here, but did you guys happen to watch Cold Case? The somewhat tough-as-nails detective turn out to be a softie for cats. Not just any cats, but special needs cats. One had only one eye and one had only three legs. She seemed to love them at least, except for the noticably "intact" male.

They overdid the makeup on the one-eyed cat, though, don't you think? I imagine some group will be up in arms over it, as there are probably plenty of legitimately-one-eyed cat actors out of work! ;)

Shoot, I only saw the very end of that show last night, when she was getting into her bed with the white cat and the orange cat. I guess I wasn't paying much attention because I didn't notice their disabilities. Are the cats always in the show?

(Loren Eisely) I saw it and did not notice anything until the one man referred to "Tripod". I really didn't see the legs. I like the show but think the lead lady looks rather anemic.

That's funny...for the few minutes I saw it, I mostly spent the time wondering why she wears her hair that way. It's kinda odd. Like why have it up at all if that's the way she's gonna wear it. She ought to wear it down. She must have some say in how she wears her hair and she must think it looks hot.

It's like it sorta wants to be a ponytail, but she's only got about three chunks of hair that are even long enough to gather together to attempt to make one. Whether she has input into her hairdo or not, it's FUGLY! :-)

I agree...now watch, pretty soon everyone will be wearing their hair that way...'cept us, of course.

I found it interesting how they used it as a device for showing gender differences - she is the softie for special-needs, while he acts with barely concealed revulsion (not a good sign)

The moment when he recoiled due to the cat's missing eye was very telling!
I thought it was neat to finally see her apartment, and liked how tacky it is. (It seems the northeastern cities are in vogue again for tv shows! Per The Guardian, Hack, etc.) I like the female Cold Case actress, and the character--except for the way they have her act "like a man" at times to show how tough she is. The way she puts her face up in the faces of tough guys. For too long getting ahead for females meant acting like men. There are other ways than blatant cockiness, even in police/detective work.

When she took it down in the cat episode, she did have a clip. I don't see the point since the hair hanging down the side would be more bothersome than the hait in the back. It looks like her hair is growing in a chunk out the back of her head.
Boy, this has gone way off topic, but interesting that so many of us watch the show. :)

(Loren Eisely) I think they are trying to imply that she is SO busy she doesn't have time to waste on brushing or combing her hair. It looks awful in every episode.

All of Sebbie's family were rescued ferals and all, including his mom, went to good homes. I think it's a cute name.
