The half eaten male and the now disfigured female were galavanting
around where they didn't really belong and found out they were not the
masters of the outdoors they professed themselves to be.

I am glad the cat got them - if indeed he did.  A mountain lion that
had 'returned to the scene of the crime' of the dead male was killed.
Stomach contents indicated to 'authorities' that the cat did it.  But
we know how all that law enforcement intelligence works - find a
suspect in time to get down to the Krispy Kreme.........

Too bad the kitty didn't get any dessert to go along with the bloody
vittles.  Mountain lions love eating (law) puppy dawgs.........

the feed (if you pardon the pun) from CNN:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/West/01/09/mountain.lion/index.html

excerpt:

Cyclists worked to free Hjelle, who was in serious condition in a
hospital Friday.

Debbie Nichols said the lion dragged her friend 100 yards into the
brush while she held on in an effort to pull her friend from the
mountain lion's grip. She also screamed for help, eventually
attracting the attention of other bikers.

"I kept saying, 'I can't hold much longer,'" Nichols said.

The animal stared at its prey and never looked at Nichols, she said.

"He was definitely engaged in his prey," she said.

end of excerpt:

(damn, why would it? - it loved tasty critters that gave a good fight
and didn't want to share it with ANYTHING else )

I too love the outdoors. Don't you?
I especially like that law of gravity thingy.
You and me, let's go for a walk.

Well, Len.... just like the other day - two go out, one comes back.
Sounds like the kind of walk you were thinking of?
