Is there a website or a book that speaks intelligently on matters of cat
sociology?

Plenty.
Go over to amazon.com or search Google for feline behaviorism.

If you can find it, Paul Leyhausen's, _Cat Behavior: The Predatory and
Social Behavior of Domestic and Wild Cats_, N.Y., Garland Press, 1979.
is the best you're going to get.  The book is, however, out of print.
Leyhausen is cited extensively in Ellen Berkeley"s, _Maverick Cats_,
Ontario, CA, Wiley & Sons, 1982.  You should be able to find the second
book in a well-stocked library.
