As the cat gets more comfortable around the house, I notice that she
loves to perch. But she still doesn't get up on the furniture (fine
with me).
If I don't want to invest in the expensive "condos," is there
something else I can get for her to perch on?
I love watching the predatory behavior, and I want to encourage it.

Walmart has an inexpensive floor to ceiling cat tree that has 3 carpeted
perches, although they're not very big. But for $30, I think it's a decent
enough cat tree.

http://www.petsmart.com/products/product_8411.shtml I have two perches
similar to this one. All of my cats love them.
