the so eats her cereal and then puts down her bowl for the kitty to lap
the milk.  he seems to like it but not be wild about it.  but he always
takes some.

question:  the cereal is Basic 4, which is not Froot Loops, but still
has some sugar in it.  I figure this sugar is dissolved into the milk
he's getting.

is this sugar bad for him? possible tooth decay?  i know dental work for
cats is a big deal to be avoided if possible.

not gonna try brushing his teeth.

Kami is the opposite.  She's not fond of milk unless it's had something
in it, like cereal.  Cereal with banana is a real treat.  The issue
isn't so much tooth decay, but lactose intolerance.  Milk isn't
especially good for cats, and even a couple of laps for Kami has its
consequences.

Few vets actually do "dental work" other than cleaning and extractions
unless you have big money for it.

Why is "the so" offering a carnivor vegetable matter and milk with sugar?

That fact that you figure the sugar is disolved doen't mean a thing. The
sugar is still there.

Absolutely.

Yes.

If feline dental problems are of a concern to you, you might want to
consider a proper feline diet.

Thanks for your response.

Obviously sugar is sugar.  His diet is Science Diet, which he prefers
above all else, including tuna fish.  The bit of milk is intended as a
little treat, just like most of the kitties fed by most of the posters
here occasionally get.

A snit a day keeps Santa Claus away.

I'd certainly avoid it, if only for the lactose intolerance factor.  Milk
is known to cause the runs for that reason.

Whyyyy.. oh yeah. =^^=  What I'd recommend is getting a "finger brush" and
using that.  On one cat, there's been less protesting.  Not entirely
stopped, but she protests less.

As long as there isn't tons of milk, it won't hurt him.  Cat food has
sugar in it too.

A little while back I had some stale fruit loops and i thought rather then
through them out i would see if the cats liked them which they did. One day
I found like neon yellow watery throw up on the carpet and i realized it was
the fruit loops. I told my mother and she told me your not supposed to feed
your cats things like that. I am much more careful now. I was told the sugar
and stuff could cause them to become diabetic.
