Whew! Just found out my long time buddy, 12 year old Rocky, is diabetic.
Looks like a rough road ahead.for both of us.
Picking him up from the vet hospital in a few minutes. Is this a good
support group for us, or could someone point us to other groups on this
subject?. Thanks, Tom

Once you get Rocky stabilized, treating him is likely to be a lot less
trouble than you think. The hardest part will be keeping a strict schedule
for his feeding and meds.

This is a great group. Just don't pay any attention to the flame
wars.

Went to pick up Rocky to start diabetes treatment and the vet just
completed x-rays on him because he was not responding to insulin the way
he should.
She found fluid around his lungs and said he also most likely had heart
problems or cancer. Rocky was not responding to food or anything.
Tomorrow he goes to rainbow heaven. I will miss him.
To ease my grief, I have had three drinks and took all his pictures from
my albums to get them ready for a dvd.
Tomorrow I will also give a $300.00 check to the humane society in
Rocky's honor where I adopted him as a three month old kitten twelve
years ago.
I believe Rocky came into my life to further impress upon me the
awesomeness of unconditional love.
God bless you all for seeking that experience of unconditional love.

Oh, no, I'm terribly sorry. To not make him suffer is the kindest gift you can
give him although I know how awful it is. My thoughts are with you both.
Please stay with him until the end; that aspect of it is really not nearly as
bad as you imagine it, it will be very swift and peaceful.

It doesn't make losing them any easier, but they sure do add such a
tremendous amount to our lives, don't they?

It certainly is a wonderful experience. I just wish our furry companions could
be with us forever in this life. Ah well, if not this life, then the next. Go
with peace to the Bridge, Rocky, where you will be healthy again and waiting
for your beloved Tom to join you again some day.

Tom--I am in tears and just want you to know that my heart--and the
heart
of everyone who has ever loved a cat--goes out to you now. Rocky has a
