Hello Sparky, I have some good advice for you. I know alot about cats and
have two cats at home. Never feed a cat or kitten tuna because it takes away
their vitamin E. It is also very strong and might make them throw up. Wet
cat food is also not a good idea either, it is not very good for them. Try
Iams or even purina for sensitive stomachs, that might work. if not, ask you
vet. good luck!

I don't agree at all. Wet food is fine for kittens, even preferable to dry.

Please see my other response to you. Your post is *not* "good
advice", and I'm not sure that you *do* know "alot" or even a lot
about cats.

On the contrary, I have it on good authority (read: a veterinarian) that I
should be feeding one of my girls wet food - simply because she has dental
trouble.

It sure doesn't seem like you do...

Feeding small amounts of tuna packed in *water* occasionally as a treat - or
in an emergency presents no problem.

Wet food is the *best* food to feed a cat!

really better?

I wouldn't make such blanket statements. Wet food was fine for my
previous girl, but this guy gets horrible diarrhea from it.

Its *still* the best food to feed a cat... just maybe not the right food for
your cat.  Have you tried different brands?  Also, did you make the
transition gradually?

Good luck.

It's too broad a generalisation to say it's the best food for all cats.
It's the best for some, maybe most -- but not all. Individual
metabolisms are too variable to make such blanket statements.

As I said, moist food is the *best* food for cats... I don't mind if you
don't agree with me...  ;)

OK, but is it true about that other part, that tuna makes cats throw
up?  (even tuna catfood? not tuna flavoured catfood, but actual tuna
catfood)

No! ...unless the cat has a food aversion or allergy to fish or tuna...

What kind of wet food do you like, Phil? Because my cats get wet food
(Iams, Purina, Friskies, some fish but lately they seem to like
chicken best) and although they love it and beg for it probably one
out of three feedings somebody throws up a LOT of cat food. Both are
well vetted, healthy cats, both short-haired, medicated for hairballs,
brushed regularly. They rarely hurl dry food. Is it the kind I am
feeding? When I asked the vet, he said "Aww. Poor little things. They
want it but it is too rich for them." He said they eat it too fast. I
now put out small amounts, but it has not seemed to help.
