we have a 1 1/2 year old maine coon female who flirts with my husband!
it's very sweet but i've never known a cat to do this. she'll come
stand right in front of him, arch her back and shake her tail while
chiriping and meowing and then she flops over on the ground and rolls
on her back. is this flirting? she's a complete drama queen with me
but just absolutely in love with him. has anyone ever seen this in a
girl cat?

Pudge used to solicit belly rubs all the time from just about anyone.

Sounds like she's wanting attention from him! =^_^= I have one of my boys
who does this to...well, about anyone, as well as one of my girls.

My cat does that arched back / shaky tail thing too. I thought she did it
because she was cold (I really don't know WHY I thought that though!!).
What does it really mean?

I have a Maine Coon male who does this same thing with my husband! We
usually just give him a belly rub and some attention and he's fine! They are
funny aren't they?

Oh yes! We call her the girly-girl. Thats's how she got herself
adopted from the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago. Crawled right into
his lap, purred and then rolled over and grinned. He said "this cat"
LOL
She's 18 months now and still rolls over for a long belly rub every
night - preferably on the big bed. And she'll let him and only him
cradle her like a baby.
A shameless flirt :

LOL, Tracy. We call Bootsie "Girly-girl" too. She's just so prissy and bossy!

My cat Isis will often turn and arch her back to me and lift her tail. It
indicates to me that she loves and trusts me while at the same time wants
attention. I think she just wants your husband to give her a bit of
attention so just enjoy it.
