I posted a thread about some toad that is selling a power supply on ebay that
gives your littermaid a little more power when raking thru some hard clumps.  It
works, but the guy is charging $40 for it.

After some experimenting, I found that you can go to radioshack and get the
parts you need for $16.

PART #273-1690 (18/24VAC POWER ADAPTER) Use the 18V setting

PART #273-1714 (5.0mm/2.1mm AdaptaPlug)

I just saw an auction on ebay but it says $24.95, I wanted to surf the internet to view the specs of the "power booster" and shop the prices.  Thank you for the information!  You just saved me some money!

Your welcome.  His $24.95 price is actually a "sale" right now.  Incidentially,
I'm running my own eBay auction for this "information" for a penny.  Good luck,
and don't forget to come back and post here how great your littermaid runs after
increasing the power.

We bought these items at Radio Shack about a month ago, then left our adult
(?) son at home to take care of our two adult cats while we were on
vacation for two weeks.  I just knew it would be jammed up with the motor
burned up (this is our fourth littermaid mega in 1 1/2 years--mostly
replaced by the company because the motor just stops/burns up--the last
replacement did it right out of the box).  Anyway, I'm not sure how often
he emptied the receptacle, but it's still working fine.  It was full, of
course, but the motor was going fine.  I'd rather clean the floor a little
than have to deal with replacing the whole thing again.  I sure do thank
you and wanted you to know it's working great.
