Do any of your cats like to drag him/herself on the carpet? Fez does
this. He'd be laying on the carpet a few feet away from me. Then I look
at him, get down to his level and call his name. Instead of getting up
and walking to me to get pettins, he will drag his body using his front
claws to reach me. :) Rufous kinda does the same thing, but it's not an
efficient mode of transportation, since all his fur adds a lot of drag.
None of our other kitties does this consistenly like Fez.

Rosie (RB) used to love doing that, first on one side then she'd flip
herself over and drag herself on the other side. She also liked to drag
herself round the bottom of the furniture, then look at me as if to say,
'what are you going to do about it?'

Betsy does sometimes. She seems to do it just for fun, not because she's
actually trying to get anywhere. She'll have been rolling and stretching a
bit; then she'll lie on her side, stretch out all paws, and pull herself
along using her front claws.
She's always liked carpet. I used to have a heavy toolbox and piles of
books on the floor in strategic locations. We've compromised; she's quit
digging up the floor carpet (mostly) and I ignore here when she's wrapped
around the bottom step of the carpeted stairs (mostly). She also has three
scratching posts of two different types of material.

Grant would occassionally drag himself around like that, but not to come to
me, just in "general fun".

Nikki used to do this, but she dragged herself along furniture. I have
this round footstool that she used to go around and around, dragging
herself along the floor.

Marietta will sometimes, in a playtime frenzy, drag herself two or
three times along the width of the single stair from the living room to
the dining room. Sometimes the fur along her flanks will end up spiking
out due to the build up of static from the nylon carpet!

Cheryl--that was funny--the compromise and 'mostly', lol.
My girly will drag herself around the bottom of the scratching post. And,
George and Girly will drag themselves when we are playing with their favorite
toy.
Have Fun,
Jen

That sounds so cute, I'd love to see that! Vino has never lived in a
home with carpet, so he can't even try. I wonder what he would think
if he saw carpet? He would probably think the whole place turned into
a giant scratching post!

My cats have never lived in a home with carpet, either, but Nikki did
the same thing by dragging herself along furniture.

funny. Stinky only does this when he has worked himself up into a
special krazy-kat frenzy. But MIMI did something hysterical. She
would get under a chair or sofa, flip over onto her back, dig her
claws into the underside of the furniture, and drag herself around
underneath it- she looked like she was walking upside down, and she
always had a really deranged-kitty look when she did it.

This is an accurate description of what Nikki used to do. Googly eyes

My beloved half-Siamese Aries (RB) did exactly that too. When he had
finished he'd look me straight in the eye down his long aristocratic
nose, as if to enquire "Do you have a problem with that?
Luckily for my old (some would say antique) furniture none of my
other masters have felt the need to "upsidedownyrun" so much,
if at all.
