A lady in Perth who was in the hospital having surgery needs purrs for her
little cat Tiki who is blind and has been missing for 3 days. It sounds like
a miracle is needed, but any spare purrs you have would maybe help.
Helen Wheels - 15 Aug 2005 05:28 GMT
Purrs on the way. Is that Perth, Australia (where I live) or another
Perth?  If it's our Perth, the Cat Haven in Shenton Park is probably the
first place to start calling, as people who find lost cats often take
them there.

I will mention this. Yes, it is your Perth.

What Theresa said! Glad to know Tiki is home safe.

Sigh... I go on vacation for one little week, and fall TOTALLY behind on
posts. =o)

My sister lives in Perth, well Freemantle actually.  She's coming to
the UK this weekend, and we're having a family dinner for her birthday
in Yorkshire, can't wait.  Much as I liked Perth, I just wish it wasn't
so bloody far away, as I miss her and her family so much!

Then there is Perth in eastern Ontario, Canada. I remember after we
finished a  project with a telephone switch in Perth Australia, a senior
manager took us to  Perth Ontario to celebrate.
Anyway, purrs going out to Tiki, wherever he is.

There's also a Perth in Scotland, probably the the one others are named
after.
In case anybody missed it, Tiki returned safe and well.

That's wonderful! I was so worried when I read the first post.
Best wishes and purrs for the lady and Tiki,

Karen, I was so glad to see in your update that Tiki is alright.  I'm also
concerned because a blind cat should *never* be left outdoors to roam.  They
are just too vulnerable.  Was this a "one-time" occurrence because her
hoomin was in the hospital, or is this cat normally permitted outdoors.  If
the latter, please encourage the lady to keep Tiki safe indoors with her.  I
know that I have often said that Duffy can do almost anything that a sighted
can can do, but this is one of the exceptions -- a blind cat has absolutely
no protection if it is outside.

I'm not in on the details, but it sounds like maybe she was being kitty sat
and got out. I found out she is only blind in one eye, wish is better, but
since the lady was in the hospital and so distraught, I think it was one of
those situations where they got out while being looked after (probably by a
neighbor.)
