We've had a black cat visiting every few nights for over a year to harass
the girls. Last summer he used to attack them at the screen door on the back
porch. But this summer it's been too hot to open the door, so he's changed
to the side windows on the front door. It's funny to see him smacking the
glass at a furious rate with both paws and the girls smacking back at him.
It's become a nightly ritual with the girls waiting on the stairs by the
front door for him to show up. They even wrestle when he arrives to see who
will get the chance to enter the smack down for that evening. They seem to
enjoy this immensely and no one gets hurt.

The only down side is that Cali caterwauls when she fights, which can be
annoying if the kitty shows up after light out. :)

That's good. So they wait for the bad boy to show. Nice conclusion.
I once heard a tremendous high pitched screaming at my window when the
girl cat noticed a cat, perhaps very young cat, outside the window,
poor fellow only wanted company and was not fighting. But she screamed
so loud, it sounded unearthly. I have never heard her scream that way
again. I assume she damaged her vocal chords - it was that powerful and
unhealthy and strange.

This is hysterical!! I would love to see a movie of the action, with
the sound of the window smacks.
