Cleo at the vet over the weekend

Late this week I noticed that Cleo seemed to be experiencing some mouth
discomfort so we took her in to the vet this morning. It turns out she has
an abcessed tooth and is mildly dehydrated. The poor girl will be spending
the weekend at the vet, getting antibiotics and IV fluids. The vet will be
doing a full blood panel to see what all might be going on with her.

At least the timing is good. Nancy and I both got paid yesterday and we
don't have to pay rent for a couple more weeks, so we're able to afford
this. But big vet bills are getting old!

Cleo was kind of scared when we left her, so purrs would be appreciated.

Purrs, and Mr. Clark will hug and kiss kitties he deems in distress --
humans as well. Babies fascinate him.

Purrs to Cleo from Rusty, who knows full well how its like staying
at TED's.
I was at there this afternoon to pick up Rusty's presciption food. Major
renovation still going on.  All the prescriptiod food was
stored in a trailer parked in front. At first I thought it was a horse
trailer
and thought TED is treating a horse.  Even TED's cat Chico is staying
at his farm instead of the clinic. Presumably the noise and dust
is too much for him.
I still get a shock when I paid for Rusty's food. It is higher than my
grocery bill.  Good thing I can charge it to my credit cart.
The case of food lasts about 3 weeks.
Apparently the vet business must be flourishing. Another vet clinic in town
is building on a new site.

I know the feeling!!!  By the time I've finished collecting Hobo's
Diabetes Management (DM) and his Overweight Management (OM) foods plus
his insulin and syringes, I feel like preparing for bankruptcy.  Not
to mention his routine periodic vet checkups and glucose curves.

They do seem to pop up for poor old Dan, don't they?  Fortunately he's
got generous friends in this group.

>Lots of purrs and best wishes for the dental to go really well,

That's very sweet, but purrs don't pay the cost of serial vet
emergencies, do they?  You don't want poor Dan to come up short on his
rent, do you?  You better send him some money, on account of what a
great guy he is, with so much integrity.

He thinks I called him on his cell phone and threatened him, you know.
Or at least that is what he led a number of people to believe, as an
explanation for why he was unable to tell the truth.  The poor guy was
too frightened to tell the truth!!!  Apparently someone called him and
told him, "you better not pick up that cat from the shelter... OR
ELSE!"  (Or else what I don't know, because, in actual fact, I didn't
make such a call.)

Anyway, poor Dan gets all the weirdos and sick cats.  And no matter
how hard he struggles, the money is always just barely there, which is
why it's so nice that people in this group have been so generous.

Poor, poor Dan.

Purrs aplenty are on their way.  I know how badly I feel when I
have to leave a frightened kitty at the vet and I know it saddens you
and Nancy to see her scared.  Hoping all goes well with Cleo and she's
back to normal soonest.

Purrs for Cleo to have a successful dental. And I hope nothing else is
wrong with her other than the dehydration.
