He has been a complete PITA today. He decided it was a bird hunting day.
Which I hate. Yes, I know they do it, but before KFC & BF came I was a
birdwatcher..in my garden.
He spotted a young sparrow not long out of the nest, nice snack. It
fluttered into my neighbour's hedge. He went through my fence after it and
started to climb up into the hedge. Parent sparrows were shrieking their
heads off, but he took no notice of that.
Baby sparrow took off (couldn't fly very well) into one of my conifers.
Boyfriend followed. He sat at the bottom of the tree and his tail was
lashing from side to side as he looked up into the tree. And he made that
noise like "I have got my prey" That wowl.
BF climbed the conifer after the baby bird. I so wish I had my digital
camera so you could see how nearly he fell off the branch after the sparrow
flew into next doors garden!
*However*!! He was still determined to get it. He charged into the garden
where it had flown to.
Half an hour later he came back, pushing his way through the bushes. "You
didn't get it, did you?" I said.
He said "Well, very nearly!.."

LOL! Reminds me of Miranda this summer on the island. I didn't see it
myself, but my sister saw her starting to climb a tree to reach a bird
sitting at the top. The bird flew away, of course, and Miranda climbed
down and went on to the next tree to try and catch it there. I think she
realised pretty soon that she would never be able to outclimb a bird
that can fly.

Miranda is probably cleverer than BF then!
What surprised me more than anything is how "focussed" he became on the bird
he had decided would be his prey. He absolutely did not want it to escape
under any circumstances and he was determined to get it. He pursued it from
garden to garden, from tree to tree.
I'm glad he didn't get it in the end.
