So far, no luck. She sniffs at this cute little soft pyramid but that's
all. I caught her last night looking at it, then looking over to where I
keep her soft luggage-like carrier (I don't tuck it away because then she
*really* knows when something is up). She caught me watching and I swear
she was thinking, "I don't see a door but this is just another way to trap
me. Uh uh, no way." (sigh) I'll give her a few more days before I give it
up as a lost cause.

In the warm weather, she might not be as interested in soft, warm places to
sleep as she'll be when the temperatures start dropping.
Captain and Stanley like their pyramid beds, and they USED to go IN them.
But then one of them, I suspect it was Captain, discovered that he likes
to step on the top of them and squash them down into a bed he can sleep
ON. So now every time I un-flatten the beds, the next time I go into the
basement, they're flat again. Sigh, lol. At least they like them. ;o)

True... but then she likes to sleep *on* or snuggled next to me (and I'm
pretty warm). But I'm not "enclosed" (she doesn't like to get under the
covers) so that may make a difference. I'm not going to toss it out; it's
cute as can be :)

Have you tried putting a folded towel in it? My two can't resist towels.

Day 2 it was ignored, but mostly because I didn't feel great. So I did my
own version of "meatloafing" on the sofa and she kept me company :)

Sounds like Melisande's reaction to a cloth "grocery sack"
gadget I bought for her. She loves the real thing, but
always manages to "collapse" them so she can't get inside
them any more. This has a crackly sound, and is wired so it
will stay invitingly open. I assumed she'd love it, but
it's been around for months, now, and except for a few
initial suspicious sniffs, she ignores it completely!

OUrs have a similar sack and even Tyche doesn't like it. She'd rather
try to stuff herself into a shoebox.
Try baiting the pyramid bed with food or catnip inside it. Also, put
it in a place she already likes to sleep.
Nocturne won't use the donut bed if it's in the living room, but she
LOVES it in the corner of the bedroom. She used to sleep in that
corner on a pile of things I had laid out to sew. When I sewed them at
last, Nox's "bed" was gone and she was mad! When I moved the donut
there, suddenly it started getting daily use.

Give Persia lots of time to get used to it. I bought a new scratching post
some time ago. I already have 2 cat trees and lots of scratching posts, but
this one is covered with sisal *fabric,* so I thought it might be nice to
have a change of texture for Holly and Duffy. It is also very tall and
sturdy. Both cats completely ignored it for a couple of weeks, and I was
just about ready to give up on it. Then, a few evenings ago, I heard
scratching and looked at the post -- and there was Holly testing it out. A
couple of nights later, I walked into the room -- and Duffy was perched on
top of it (which is one of his favorite things to do with tall scratching
posts; he scratches, but then climbs and perches on top). It's likely that
they had also been using it some when I wasn't around to observe. So, the
post now has a new home, and I'm glad I didn't get rid of it too quickly.
You may find the same thing with the pyramid if you are patient and give it
lots of time.

They're just like children. You buy them a new toy and they're happier
playing with the packaging or box it came in. Go figure!

You'd be surprised. I bought a couple of little cat beds for Fin(RB)
way back when, and he never touched them. But I never got around
to using them. Now Rita uses them all the time. She loves them!
Jane
- now hobbling around with a big black boot on - yup, doc thinks it's
broken! Rita is thrilled. More time to play with her.
