As some of you may be aware, the Athletics World Championships are being
held in Helsinki at the moment. Well, Miranda and Baby Boy are holding
their own ompetition: who can be the worst hoolikitten.
Miranda puts her paw in Meowmie's glass of water, then sticks her head
in, and finally topples it over so the water spills out.
BB puts his paw in Meowmie's tea mug, then sticks his head inside, but
fortunately there is only a dram of cold tea left at the bottom, so no
harm done.
Miranda scoffs at BB's lame attempt and goes to kill the morning papers
that lie inside the door.
BB attacks the cat tree, racing up and down it and biting and kicking it
into submission.
Miranda jumps up on a table where Meowmie has set down a pile of cards
that haven't found their rightful home after the move yet, and topples
all the cards onto the floor.
BB sees the herrings that Meowmie gave Miranda and Frank for breakfast,
most of which are still lying uneaten around the cats' waterdish. He
attacks and kills several herrings at length, throwing them around,
biting their necks and shaking them vigorously (another great hunter in
the making, I believe), and dunking them in the water dish.
While one kitten is doing their tricks, the other one always sits back
and watches with interest, obviously giving points for style and sheer
evil ingenuity. When BB comes too close to Miranda during his
shenanigans, she hisses, but sometimes she is so fascinated by what he
is doing that she forgets or just gives a half-hearted growl. It seems
clear to me that she is impressed with the tricks he can come up with.
The contenders are now resting up for their next competition and
thinking up new hoolikittenisms.

You must be having such fun with this pair! I'm glad the integration is
going so well, with so few hisses and growls! I'll bet Frank is just
sitting back watching like a proud step-unka :)

What great fun :-)
Luckily Snowball (at 2 years 5 months) has largely put behind him
the worst of his mischief-making, for which I'm most grateful as
Claudius has enough "norty" in him for two. I'm not given too much
time to write so tales of his attempts to swim to the sea via the
toilet bowl or ascend to the Heavens via the curtains and/or tall
furniture will have to wait.............
The good thing is how well & frenetically he & Snowball now
play together, esp. in their big cardboard box half-filled with
scrunchy paper and rich in moving flaps. Snowy even enjoys
himself enough to forget to hiss at the nuisance, too!
Purrs for a continuing successful integration

Do you have a gold medal for the kitten champion?
Don't forget to play the anthem during the ceremony.
I made Rusty pay attention and waved the Maply Leaf whenever
O Canada was played on TV.
But I haven't heard it yet from the Athletics World Championships :(
The CBC shows the competitions every evening.

They'll probably calm down a little, in three or four years. ;-)

Uh oh, sounds like they may give B&C a run for their money. I joined
the group just and they were hitting their stride, and one of the
reasons I stuck in the group was Bev's stories of their exploits.

You should have been here for the Ollie stories, they were priceless.

That they were. One of the reasons *I* stuck in the group. Where is Bev,
anyway?

Maybe she's playing bubbels, or some other addictive game she's found.
She really should post more stories about B&C and Fluffy SP.

LOL! A pair of hoolikittens makes for FAR more entertaining "reality TV"
than anything the television networks can dream up.
And they're cuter, too.
Captain and Stanley, the grown-cat-sized hoolikittens, salute Miranda and
Caliban.
Meanwhile, I can be found retrieving the bathtub's drain screen from
various and sundry places on the second floor (wherever Captain drags it
when he steals it for the zillionth time), picking up my
spilled-for-the-999th-time lucky bamboo vase, which SOMEkitty keeps
tipping over in the unsuccessful attempt to get on a 2-inch-wide
windowsill... sigh. LOL. It never ceases to amaze me how many things they
can think of to explore and/or turn into a cat toy.
