He went outside for a short time this morning and when he came back the area
under the lower jaw was swollen up so much that he looked like a pelican.
I've seen many a swollen cat/dog face but never anything like this. It was
funny!
I was going to take a picture when I finished my horse chores but by that
time the swelling had gone way down. I found a small red spot right on the
end of his chin where some spider, wasp, bee or -?- got him.
He's staying inside most of the time now. I got a bit worried a few days ago
and took his temp. 102.2. Several hours later it was back to normal so it
could just have been due to the extreme heat of the day.
He loves little Beatrice and plays with her a lot. He's been more playful in
general, lately, often grabbing at my hair or fingers. I even saw him
chasing his own tail earlier today. If my house was ferret-proof I think he
would enjoy having one. That would be a playmate that would never outgrow
him as did Billy and Lily and soon Beatrice will also.
Do any of you folks have a ferret as a playmate for your kitty?

Poor baby! Insect bites/stings can be very painful.

A house is not a home, without a cat.

Poor little fella! What a bummer. Hope it continues to improve.

I thought 102(F) WAS "normal" for a cat! (I know their body
temp is a lot higher than a human's - thats why they don't
seem as bothered by hot weather as humans are.)

No, I believe it is 101.

Cats don't sweat like humans and they don't pant like dogs so ... so is that
why you think they are not bothered by hot weather? You don't know anything
about cats do you. ;^) LOL

Our sense of humour must be different. Poor lad.

Poor Abelard. I hope he feels okay very soon.
Nope, no ferrets here.
