Casey usually sleeps rolled up by my neck when I first try to go to sleep. He puts his paw over my hand and it is so cute. This is the normal routine every night for over 10 years now. Later on in the night, he goes to other parts of the bed to sleep. I had shifted my hand the other night and moved it away just a couple inches and he reaches over with his paw and pulls it back. It was the cutest thing ever. He didn't raise his head or anything.... just reaches over and pulls my hand back and rests his paw on top. I have seen other cats pull spoons of food up to their mouths, etc. but my cats never did that. This was a first. Awwww. > Casey usually sleeps rolled up by my neck when I first try to go to > sleep. I think he likes to "hold hands" cuz when I am petting him with one hand, I often put my other hand under one of his front paws and he kneads a little and moves his paw like he's squeezing mine. When I'm on the bed, Scouty comes and cuddles in the crook of my arm, or lays herself along my thigh... she won't stay there if John's in bed too - then she goes down to the foot of the bed and cuddles up by my ankle instead so that she can't be touched! Sounds like my Luna. Gosh I adore her, but she is such a brat. She is not a lap cat (well, sometimes, she'll hop up while DH or I am sitting at the computer, but that is about it) and she only likes to be pet on HER terms. When I come in for a pet, she meows as if to say "NOOO!" GRR! But, one of the things she does at night, which I love, is hop up on the bed and curls up along my waist or thigh. She usually doesn't stay very long, but I love every moment of it. I know she loves me, but she is just one of those stand-offish kitties. If I'm on my side facing Persia with my hand outstretched, she wraps both paws around it so it can't get away! And sometimes he will wrap his arms around my leg just as I am about to go to sleep, using just the tips of his claws to hang on! He loves his Meowmy and don't want her to get away! -- CATherine |
