No, it's not a tail... but she does have a lovely subtle black on grey
striped tail :) For any newbies who don't know her, here's her story.
On January 6, 2001, a cat (Persia) came to the back door on the patio. She
was crying, crying. She wanted to be let inside. I tried to chase her
away. I'd never had a cat, okay? But she was having none of that. It was
getting dark and *very* cold outside (translate 28F- below freezing). I
decided to go to the store, pick up a litter box, litter and some cat food.
I said to myself if she was still there when I got back, I'd let her inside.
Not only was she still there but when I let her in she (at first cautiously)
looked around, then apparently decided my apartment was okay with her. She
ate the food and when I showed her the litter box she obliged by scratching
in it.
That night, me not knowing what to expect... the cat jumped up on the bed
and curled up on the pillow above my head. She was purring in a distressed
sort of way... she still didn't trust me (nor I her).
In the morning I took some photos of her and printed out flyers which I
posted all around the neighborhood. I contacted the area vets and the
Humane Society and my apartment manager. No one had reported this cat
missing. She was skinny and her fur was a little messed up from sleeping
under bushes in leaves. It was pretty apparent to me she'd been the owner
of someone - she was front declawed and (I later confirmed) spayed. Yet no
one claimed her!
On Day Three she had charmed her way into my heart and it was apparent no
one was going to claim this cat. So... she was walking away from me when I
said out loud, "I can't just keep calling you 'CAT'". The name Persia
suddenly popped into my head and out of my mouth! Persia! She immediately
turned around and ran to me. Yes! My name is Persia! <G>
Since then she's been my love-bug and indoor kitty. She's had some
adventures on the OUT but that resulted in her getting micro-chipped. And
there was one time when she knocked the patio sliding screen door out (like
a cat-flap) and she came back complaining to me about it. I now have a
kiddy gate in the slider. And she has a Kitty-Walk on the patio. She can
go outside without roaming when it's not too hot or too cold.

Persia is fascinated by the birds and squirrels she sees through the windows
but she never (after a squirt bottle) paid attention to my (then parakeets
Rachel and Lorien (RB)) Peaches the lovebird is a baby parrot and Persia
doesn't think one thing about Peaches being there. Persia is a good kitty
girl!
Persia looks a lot like a Russian Blue. She has grey-blue fur and green
eyes, and a lightly black-striped tail. She also looks a bit like a Korat.
And she "talks" a lot, which is a Siamese trait. She's just a sweet chatty
blue cat

And I'm her "mommy".. she kneads my side and cuddles up next to me and
drapes her paws over my hand and rests her head on my hand. She's too cute
for words! I love my Persia!
Now, because I don't know her age... she's getting white on the underside of
her forepaws and also under her chin. The vet guesses she's about 6 or 7
years old now. <huge sigh>
New song Hotel Calikitty:
On a dark kitty walkway, cool wind in my fur
Cool smell of da tuna, wafting up through the air
And she lit up da candle
and she showed me da way
There were kitties down the corridor
I fot I hurd dem sey!

I've decided Persia is sui generis-- maybe she's a new breed, Blueus
Supercuddlius. ;)

What a cute kitty - makes you wonder what happened to her original
slaves. She seems to approve of her current slave, though...
Liked her version of Hotel California, BTW :)

If you're a cat person, cats will inform you about it.
She is so sleek and beautiful! Rather like a female version of
Smokey-poke (without the white trim) Her face is very much a more
delicate version of pokey's....

Cool your jets, sisfur. I'm a girl myself. I'm just jealous that Persia
looks that good. I wish I did.
