TED visits....

Ming and Buttercup went to TEDs for their check-ups. Neither wanted to
come out of their carriers (it took my younger son with his VERY long
arms to get Buttercup out- she was huddled *way* in the back).  They
struggled against the thermometer, but neither even tried to bite,
scratch or claw to get away. TED said that they were both very well
behaved kitties.  Ming even made "happy feet" for her as she was
petting him. The verdict is that both are in very good condition,
Ming's heart murmur is no worse than it was last time (between 2 and 3
on a scale of 6), so we just watch him.  Ming weighs 10 pounds which is
a good weight for him, and Buttercup is about 9.1 pounds- also a good
weight.  Ming is a shorthair Meezer, so I had a good idea that his
weight was about right (I can see his "waist"), but Buttercup is a very
longhaired, very fluffy stripey-pointed Meezer so she's hard to judge-
there's so much fur on her that you can't even really feel her ribs.
Both spent the time in the examination room power-shedding at me, so I
had to use about half a roll of masking tape on my clothes when we got
home.

thank you from Ming and Buttercup... they're both just the sweetest
kitties.  Buttercup is also known as "miss Fluffybutt" because of her
fluffy hindquarters.  She has "attitude" down pat.  She's the Princess
and she knows it. Ming is more laid back- he's the "I don't care what
you do as long as you pet me" sort.  He doesn't like being on my lap,
but he will stand next to me and demand his petting.

What an absolutely stunning pair of kitties! I love Ming's white
booties, and Buttercup has a most impressively fluffy, beautiful tail
(as well as a very, very sweet face!)

Yep-  those white tootsies are so cute.... When we first got Ming he
was much lighter, so the white toes weren't so pronounced. As he's
aged, he's darkened, so now they really stand out, as does the white
bib. If he didn't have the Siamese genes, he'd be a black and white
tuxedo kitty.   Buttercup's tail is one of those that "flounces" when
she walks. She prances down the hall with it straight up.

Ming and Buttercup are magnificent kitties! I just looked at their
first album and it inspired a serious case of kitten fever - she was
an adorable little puffball and she's grown into a lovely cat :)

She's the one that was caught from a feral litter at about 4 weeks....
We had just gotten Ming from the shelter about 5 weeks earlier and I
wasn't sure how he would accept a kitten. The people at the shelter had
estimated that Ming was between 2 and 3 (I think he was much younger,
given how much he's grown in the past year), and the shelter neutered
him before adopting him out, so from what I knew at the time, he had
been a tom for a while before being snipped (he also came with a
HORRIBLE case of ringworm all over his face and body, even though the
shelter told me that it wasn't ringworm, it was a stress allergy).  I
didn't let Buttercup out with him alone for the first 2 or 3 days.  The
picture of them sleeping together when she was a kitten was taken on
day 4.  She was out wandering around on my workroom floor while I was
on the computer.  After a while I realized that I hadn't seen her for
some time, so I went looking, and found them curled up together.  I
figured they'd be fine...
