I poured myself a glass of water last night before I went to bed and
it sat on my bedside table all night... this morning I got up, drank a
few swallows and then carried it back to the living room with me. I
put it down on the computer desk next to me, and Silver just jumped up
and started lapping at it without so much as a by your leave! I guess
it's her water now... :P

She just came back for seconds, AFTER I went into the bathroom and fed
and watered her there... she must really like that wide-mouthed glass
:)

SUgar and Pearl never used to do this, but lately, my glass of water is "the
best".

She is showing you who ruins things around there.   MLB

Found water is always better than that water which is given by the hoomins.

I always have a glass of water in the bedroom and my cats will drink out of
it  too.

Oh come on!  Don't you know that kitty spit just makes everything
taste better? :P

We have to have a special mug of water on my bedside table for our
three.  Started out just Meg using it, but the other two both use it
now too.

If it's not there or empty, they raid Scott's glass of water.

The thing that scares me is how far Stinky will push his face into the
glass to get at the liquid in it-- so far, no disasters. ;)

This reminds me of a funny story. My DH's boss is very fastidious to the
point of being ridiculous sometimes. I mean he evens wipes his telephone
with alcohol wipes if somebody else uses it.

Well, he and his wife have a dog whom they both love very much. His wife
told us that the guy keeps his false teeth in a glass of water on their
bedside table. And unbeknownst to him, the dog drinks from the glass every
night. She has never had the heart to tell her husband about it.

I never would. ;)  I would pay to see the dog steal the teeth someday.

That could be very UNfunny!  (Ask Bev - didn't one of B &
C's escapades involve a "partial" she left unguarded briefly?)

See different point of view.  I would think not telling him would be
necessary.  Especially once the dogs been at if for a while.

Now *that's* funny!

I woke up one night with a soaked pillow because Willow had pulled the glass
over with her paw, dumped it out, and was lapping it up from the puddle on
my pillow.

This is Tyche's favourite method, except who needs Mommy's water when
Daddy has coffee?

I don't remember Tyche's age or disposition, but the idea of a
hoolikitten hyped up on caffeine is scary...

ROTFL! Maybe the teeth make the water taste extra yummy...

Are you sure she doesn't help herself when it's on your
bedside table, too?  Melisande always has a bowl of fresh
water by her food dishes, but that doesn't stop her drinking
out of my glass if I leave it unattended.

My bedside dresser is very high and quite small and it stands over
against the wall away from the bed - there's no way for the cats to
get at it! I've seen them occasionally put their paws up onto it but
there's nowhere for them to jump to - it's the one place in the house
that's catproof!

A pet food can cover also makes a good glass cover.  Did you ever find a
house spider swimming in your water glass?   MLB

We had steak on the Q last night, so Smokey wanted her obligatory piece. I
cut her a small piece and got up to put in my bowl. Before I could put it in
her bowl I hear "NO SMOKEY". I turn around and Smokey was sitting in my
chair at the table getting ready to eat HER steak. She was not impressed at
being asked to relinquish her prize. "Well, you offered it too me!"
