I was able to find someone nearby to move the poor cat-- he agreed
that the poor thing was too far gone for me to have done it myself.
It was a terrible mess.  Damn this hot weather.

Poor fellow, he was a blue-grey cat who was a neighborhood regular--
very slim and dignified, with round green eyes.  He was a feral, and
never let me get close, but he wasn't particularly scared of me,
either.  He used to like to sleep under the very shrub where I found
him, so I just hope that he went quietly in one of his naps, and
didn't suffer at all.

I like to think of him at RB, resting under another bush, but not
having to worry or be scared of people, dogs, cars, other cats, etc,
etc anymore.

I'm so sad about this anonymous kitty.  I so hope he passed peacefully.

Years ago I worked for a vending company as the route accounting supervisor
and also did tech support for the computer systems.  The office was attached
to a large warehouse and trucks would back up to get their orders for the
stuff for the vending machines.  Once I was standing in the warehouse
looking out the open doors as a truck backed up.  There was a dog.  I
started screaming and running towards the door, yelling, "Stop!  STOP!!!!"
The driver couldn't hear me.  I had to turn away as the truck backed up over
this poor dog. OMG!  The CFO of this place was so cold he simply told one of
the warehouse workers, "Go get a shovel and throw it in the dumpster."  I
was sick.

I'm very grateful they are now out of business.  He was a cold-hearted
b***ard at best and thought nothing of yelling at his employees in front of
anyone and everyone.  What a jerk!
