And now it's in the lap of the Gods. ::Sigh::

There was a pannel of 3 people, and I didn't fluff my presentation but
have no idea how it went either because it's all a bit of a blurr.

The interview ended up being 50 minutes instead of 30mins, which I don't
know is a good or a bad thing. I also found out that after the
application sift stage, there were only 3 people in competition for the
job, of which I am one - so I'd guess I am in with a reasonable chance.

I find out this time next week.  I haven't been that nervous for a
looong time. Here's hoping I gave them what they wanted.

Thanks for the purrs guys, but please keep them coming - after talking
about the job and what it entailed with the interviewers, I want it even
more!

More purrs coming that you've gotten it.

I think the interview being longer is a *good* sign.  If you had not given
them a good impression they would have shuffled you off sooner rather than
later.

Yeah, sort of like audtioning for a job with an opera
company.  It doesn't ALWAYS mean you didn't get the job when
they listen for you for about five minutes, then interrupt
you with "Thank you very much, we'll let you know", but it's
not exactly encouraging.  (Usually they at least let you
finish your first aria.)

Purrs that the mothership can influence the interviewers.

Purrs still coming for them to make a decision in your favour!

I hate those "group" interviews.  It's not enough that interviews are
unnerving to begin with, then you find yourself in a room with 3-4 people.
I used to have to sit in on interviews in that manner and to me it felt like
we were ganging up on the person who had applied for the job.  Can only
serve to make a person more nervous.

I remember when I interviewed for my job at SCMS (the last one I held for 11
years).  Initially I only met with one person, the department manager.  He
was easy to talk with and impressed with me.  But I was still nervous and
spouted something about "anacronisms" when the word I wanted was "acronyms".
He thought it was funny, but I was sure I wasn't going to be called back.  I
was.  But the next interview I had to meet with his (then) boss.  Hard-a**
B**ch on wheels if you ever met one!  I walked away convinced there was no
way I had the job.  Nothing I said to her seemed like the right answer, you
know?  For example, why hadn't I finished college?  Since I figured I didn't
have the job anyway I allowed myself to get a little angry.  "Because I
couldn't afford to after my dead-beat ex-husband left me with a ton of
bills."  She didn't say so, but apparently she had a dead-beat ex-husband,
too.  I got the job.  LOL

I'm not sure when they transitioned to the "group" interview thing.  I don't
like the concept.  IMHO, at least the first interview should be conducted by
the immediate supervisor/manager one-on-one.  If nothing else, to figure out
if they then want to waste others' time talking with a candidate who isn't
qualified and wouldn't be in the running.  My tuppence :)

Longer interviews are always good.  If they aren't impressed with a
candidate, they don't want to waste their time.

One in three is much better than a "reasonable" chance!

Purring continuing for you Helen.

I've always been told that the longer you are in the better it is, if
the interview is short then they've decided against you but if it it's
longer than it should be that is a very good sign

Fingers crossed as well
