Sherry suggested I post a few photos of our kitten, Omar. So, here are a
few fotos of our new little Omar ... an unusually marked brown tabby. There
is a mix but ... who knows what! We got Omar at 8 weeks of age from the OC
Shelter in Orange, CA. Omar is now going on 16 weeks old and weighs in at 5
lbs, 8 oz.
Omar 1st day home, 8 weeks old.

What a hunk! Especially the wonderful marbling. And a great character
I'll bet.
Here's hoping you have many happy years together.

Omar (Hebrew for "He Who Speaks") is getting well socialized to a variety of
people. He's a very active kitten. He likes to come charging into the living
room and using your shoulder for a springboard to the top of the LazyBoy if
you happen to be sitting in it. I've acclimated him to getting thoroughly
washed and claws trimmed. He's quite ok with me just holding him up to the
shower head for a thorough warm wash and rinse with a dab of baby shampoo.
Anything you are eating is more interesting than 'his stuff.' The suckling
on my elbow behavior is still a little odd but .... people here say
his -may- grow out of it. LOVES batting paper wads around the living room
and playing fetch with them. He will eat dry kitten food (Royal Canin
Kitten) but isn't particularly fond of any maker's canned kitten food. He
likes various adult foods but the vet impressed on me that adult food must
be accompanied by a squirt of FeloVite-II to make up the nutritional
shortage for a growing kitten.

Isn't "active kitten" tautology?
Claudius is about 3 weeks younger & I'm just learning what he can do,
as are the senior cats & the furniture, carpets, curtains etc. The toy
mice/
rabbits/bears/whatever didn't stand a chance. I'll be trying out "fetch"
in due course.
The nicest thing I've found out so far is that he's immensely good-
natured: even waking him from sleep wherever he's chosen to curl
up he always has a purr & wriggleof pure pleasure - just at my nearness,
even before a stroke or tickle. Nice, that.

In this case, no. Omar is either asleep or on 15 lbs of turbo boost.

He's adorable! I did a double take when I looked at the KittenPad pic;
I'd have sworn I was looking at a picture of our kitten Hubert. Whoa.

He's a gorgeous little fellow, love the spotted tummy. He looks like an
Oscelot (can't think of correct spelling).
