This evening Vernon and I went for a pootle around the lanes at sunset. It
was lovely. At one point we were greeted by Tetley, a semi-feral, semi-house
pet that inhabits a particular part of my local route when he's not with his
humans. Tetley ran to greet me, meowing his hello so I stopped and indulged
in a spot of Tetley earscritching. Boy has the cat got a loud purr! He is
*huge* these days - not fat, just *big*. When he's in feral mode, the place
he lives in is an open sugar beet store, so there is a large rat population,
which he hunts most effectively. At another place this evening, I communied
with Rosie and Jim, a brother & sister semi-feral pair, who live at a local
hotel, and they patrol the grounds, keeping the rodent & rabbit population
under control. They are well taken care of in terms of their health, as the
hotel owner keeps an eye on them. Jim is also *huge* in the same way as
Tetley is. Rosie is a little smaller. The nice thing is, all three are
speyed/neutered, with their welfare looked after by local people.
So all-in-all a lovely evening's cycling with plenty of cats to check out
:-)

Yep, the best thing about my rides is always seeing all the kitties along
the way! ;>
