Working From Home With Mommy - Installment One
Cast of Characters:
Sammy - 1-year-old female kitten
Mommy - *MUCH* older female human
Mommy gets out of bed rubbing her sleepy eyes and heads for the bathroom.
Sammy rushes over to hide behind the bathroom door to play pawsy with Mommy
while Mommy sits on the commode. Mommy, after suffering many, many sliced
fingers, no longer uses her big, slow paws to play pawsy, but grabs the hand
towel from the sink to tease Sammy with. Mommy gets up from the commode and
washes her hands, then bends down, and peeks through the crack in the
bathroom door. "I see you Sammy," Mommy crows, forgetting how tall Sammy
is. Sammy promptly jumps up and swats the end of Mommy's nose through the
crack in the door. Mommy mumbles bad words, grabs a tissue to dab at her
bleeding nose and heads upstairs to start a pot of coffee, feed the clowder,
and grab a bowl of cereal. Sammy rushes ahead to beat Mommy up the stairs
then stops at the top of the stairs to turn around and give slow-poke Mommy
a kitty raspberry. Mommy, who still has sleep in her eyes, doesn't notice
Sammy at the top of the stairs and trips over her. Muttering bad words,
louder now, Mommy continues on to the kitchen.
Mommy washes the three bowls that hold the gooshy food, closely supervised
by Sammy who sits next to the sink telling Mommy to hurry up already, she's
starving to death! After Mommy finishes filling the bowls with gooshy food
she sets them aside so she can make coffee. Sammy jumps over the sink to
start eating the gooshy food and doesn't notice Mommy putting the coffee
beans in the coffee bean grinder. At the sudden noise of the coffee bean
grinder, Sammy starts in surprise and knocks one of the bowls of gooshy food
to the floor where it shatters and splashes gooshy food all over the floor
and counter tops. Mommy, dripping gooshy food from her shins, sighs and
grabs Sammy before she can jump down into the broken glass.
After the broken glass and gooshy food are all cleaned up (and another bowl
filled and put down in the upstairs feeding station), Mommy pulls the cereal
and milk out of the fridge and then turns to get a bowl out of the cabinet.
Sammy jumps across the sink in order to get to the gooshy food again, and
her big fat bottom knocks the carton of milk off the counter. Mommy feels a
cold splash on the back of her legs and reluctantly turns around to see the
kitchen floor covered in milk.
After the milk has been mopped up off the kitchen floor, Mommy finishes
pouring cereal into the bowl and frowns at the prospect of having to eat dry
cereal without milk. Sammy is poised to jump over the sink again to get to
the gooshy food and Mommy quickly grabs up all three bowls before Sammy can
knock anything else off the counter. In her haste Mommy drops one of the
bowls of gooshy food and, as she is jumping out of the way of the dropping
bowl, drops the bowl of cereal also.
Oh well, Mommy wasn't looking forward to eating dry cereal anyway. After
cleaning up the broken glass and gooshy food off the kitchen floor, Mommy
looks at the clock and realizes she had better get a move on if she wants to
start work on time.
Mommy finishes upstairs and heads back downstairs to make the bed. Sammy
rushes ahead to beat Mommy down the stairs then stops at the bottom of the
stairs to turn around and give slow-poke Mommy a kitty raspberry. Mommy,
holding up two bowls of gooshy food out of the way, doesn't notice Sammy at
the bottom of the stairs and trips over her. Thankfully the bowls of gooshy
food land on the carpet and the bowls do not break. However there is now
the problem of picking gooshy food out of the carpet.
After getting all the gooshy food out of the carpet, Mommy continues into
the bedroom to make the bed. Mommy flings the quilt over the bed, but
notices a very large lump in the middle that wasn't there just a second
before. Mommy pokes at the lump and hears kitty profanity. Mommy continues
to poke at the lump as it moves slowly to the edge of the bed. The lump
suddenly falls to the floor and Sammy bites Mommy's foot in retaliation.
After the bed is made (after removing the large lump several times, Mommy
head back upstairs to get a cup of coffee. Sammy rushes ahead to beat Mommy
up the stairs then stops at the top of the stairs to turn around and give
slow-poke Mommy a kitty raspberry. Mommy, who still has sleep in her eyes,
doesn't notice Sammy at the top of the stairs and trips over her. Mommy has
run out of bad words to say and when she realizes she is simply repeating
herself, just sighs instead.
Mommy heads back downstairs with her cup of coffee. Sammy rushes ahead to
beat Mommy down the stairs then but this time stops in the middle of the
stairs to turn around and give slow-poke Mommy a kitty raspberry. Mommy,
expecting Sammy at the bottom of the stairs doesn't notice that Sammy has
planted her large furry butt on the middle step and trips over Sammy on the
way down. Mommy's coffee is now all over the landing instead of inside of
Mommy's tummy and Mommy is feeling decidedly cross.
Mommy finally accomplishes the simple task of getting a cup of coffee and is
settling down in her office to start work for the day (only 45 minutes
late - how *does* one manage *that* when working from home??!). Mommy is
just reaching over to her keyboard when Sammy jumps up on her lap for a nice
long toe sucking session.
Mommy looks down at this ginormous toe sucking kitty and wonders how she'll
manage to get anything accomplished working around this lump on her lap -
not to mention the distraction of all the smacking and purring.

ROFLMAO
Good to see Sammy and Mommy in such great form. BTW, how long do you
think she's going to be a kitten? ;

Nice one: made my morning.
All that entertainment wrapped up in one (comparatively) small package.
Who needs TV?
But I fear that both the growing and the kittenish behaviour will
probably
slow to a halt at around 4. Not the entertainment, though, that'll just
be
different.
Purrs that it keeps going for a really long time

Well, despite the title, there wasn't a lot of working, now was there? ;-)
Can't wait for the next one.

Nope, with Sammy around there seldom is (unless it's working to clean up her
messes!). It's a good think I love her furry little butt! ;>
