How's the wrist doing, sweetie?  And the bruises and road rash?

Purrs that you're felling better.

Good heavens, Monique! What HAPPENED?   Obviously, I missed something,
here.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks!

Nothing too bad ... just a little mountain bike accident.  It was
scary at the time, but in retrospect wasn't too bad.  The worst is a
sprained wrist; other than that I would have been fine.

Ow... but I'm glad it was no worse. Still, a nuisance.

Melissa.

Aww, thanks for asking!

It's much better.  I still have a brace on my wrist, which makes
typing a pain (I keep accidentally hitting capslock, cntrl, etc with
my brace; this is especially exciting using vi, where regular
characters are commands), but I can use the hand a lot more now than I
could.  I can, for example, hold a beverage in the left hand;
doorknobs are still beyond me, or at least they're painful.  I'm
keeping myself on Aleve pretty much nonstop; with that there are
occasional aches, and pain if I stupidly try to use my hand for too
great an effort, but mostly it's just an annoyance.

The scrapes on my arm aren't deep; they just cover a fairly large
area, and aren't too much trouble except that they're itchy now that
they're healing.

The bruises are no trouble at all, except that I have a big 4" square
one on my upper thigh that makes it hard to fold my leg sideways
(like indian style) or sleep on that side.

So, short story, more an annoyance than a trouble at this point.  I
would like to say I wish I were riding, but with highs in the 100s ...
well, I can pretend I'd be riding if it weren't for the injury.  I am
kinda bummed that I might have to miss my friend's 18-miler
hike/birthday celebration on Saturday ...

I do hope that I can be riding, kickboxing, yogaing, etc soon.  I
haven't done anything active since Saturday, and I'm getting antsy!

Man, I know exactly how you feel - I'm *so* wanting to get on my bike (and
might stupidly do so, but my body just won't let me at this point).

I'm glad you're feeling better - purrs continuing for a complete recovery
and that you'll be back to your activites again soon.

Don't do it!

Thanks -- you, too!  Stay off that bike till you're ready!
