Well, Norton (Tuxie) and Trixie (Gizmo) have gone to their forever home
today. Both were playful and chasing me around (well as much as one
can chase a cripple anyway). They even went willingly into their
carrier.
The thing I hated was that trusting look in both of their faces. They
seemed to think that grand-meowmie was taking them somewhere. When
they were put into the car by "that other lady", I could hear them
rowring from the front step. I had to come inside before I broke down
in tears and told Grace to bring them back that Anne and Gary couldn't
have them.
They have a favorite toy (a flutterball, a soft felt ball with feathers
and a "bizzy ball" a plastic ball with a bell). OMG, they've been gone
less than 30 minutes and I miss them (cry, cry, cry).
I've taken pictures, but haven't put them up yet. I've still got the
other 4, Marley, Bear, Seal, and Smeagol. The room seems so much more
empty without Norton and Trixie.
Oh boo-freakin'-hoo, right? Why am I complaining and sad? They will
have a perfect home (3 floors) where they will be the only bitties
along with two "D" things, and they've already got an escape route
built (a 6 by 6 post with shelves, from the first floor up to the
second floor to escape the d things if need be). And the forever home
just had to put their former master (Callie) on her way to the RB.
Oh heck, I suppose I'm just a big ole wimp, huh?

Yup! Join the club! ;>
Honestly, Annie, you did good! You know they'll have great lives all
because of you!

It sounds like Norton and Trixie will have a wonderful life and home, Annie,
as CatNipped says, I think you did good. =o) But I can't hear a kitten cry
without feeling terribly sorry for it and wanting to run to the rescue. So
I completely understand what you mean about the trusting little faces and
the rowring. Big part of why I couldn't give up Nina, when it came right
down to it. So sit down and have some tea with the rest of the Wimp Club.
=o)

You made the right decision. It's hard to give them up, but as you said,
they will be going to what sounds like a wonderful forever home. <<<hugs>>>

They have wonderful lives thanks to you and besides that was a lot of

to kee p them both.

Aww, of course you're not. It's completely natural that you will miss
them. I couldn't foster any bitties. I would selfishly want to keep them
all. The woman who fosters Leo and his adoptive siblings said her
daughter cries every time one of them goes to a new home. It must be so
hard for her, because she spends a lot of time with the kittens,
socializing them. {{{Annie}}}

No you're not a wimp. I'd have a hard time giving them up too. Spicey
sends purrs that missing them gets easier.

You're no wimp, by any means. It takes cojones to raise these little bitties
and send them off. You've done the good thing by making sure the babies have
a good home to go to. And it's not wussy to be sad about missing the little
ones. (I'm great with the back-patting and advice, but I'm the worst for
beating the hell out of myself!)
Blessed be,

No, you are not a wimp at all. I don't think it's possible to rear bitties
or puppies (and others of course) and not get fond of them and fiercely
protective, and of course to miss them when you finally bring yourself to
approve a perfect home where there is simply no excuse to not let them go
there ;-)
I've been there and done that.
What I try to tell myself is "what if no-one trusted *me* to have one of
their dogs?" I would never have had my beloved Minnie if someone had not
believed in me.
Doesn't apply to my cats - they came on their own..
Nice to see you posting again, Annie.

Oh, btw, I am the only one allowed to "whimper" on here ;-)

Gary and Anne have called me every evening. Apparently, Norton and
Trixie are taking some time acclimating to their new home. They seem
have picked the upstairs bathroom, behind the commode, as their spot.
They are constantly together, and will not explore alone.
Trixie has decided that she likes to sit in Gary's lap when Norton is
in Anne's (or vice versa - Trixie was always a lap fungus). They seem
to be doing alright, but not eating much. Told Anne to try Purina ONE
Kitten food with a little bit of tuna (packed in water) mixed in.
Trixie liked that here, but hated any other kind of "gooshy" food.
Norton likes Iams pouches, but I had to warn them about his pigging
out, then having... How shall I say this... a bit of stomach
distress?

Well, for a while there, there wasn't much point in posting, since it
seemed no one saw anything but "those" posts...
How have you been? I've missed reading about you and "animal farm"

Heh, heh... had forgotten about that.
Smokie Darling (Annie) - who has quit crying about the babies, but
their mom and litter mates haven't :(
