We just had to rush our Isis to the vets...she has an enlarged heart. We don't know if she will make it through the night. I've gone through this a couple of times before, but it still hurts as much as the first (if not more). Isis was a special girl. She had a tumor removed a few years ago and we almost lost her then. I knew when we brought her in that chances were slim that she'd make it this time around. It had came on so suddenly. I just wish that I could have given her a peaceful passing at home...instead of at the vets with strangers prodding her. They were hoping to keep her stable until the morning so that she could be transferred to our regular vet. After looking at the xrays (which also showed a tumor on her spleen) they called me to tell me that it would be best to let her go. She went into her last cardiac arrest while she was still talking with me. I'm picking her body up in the morning and we're having a burial soon after. She so loved going out into the cat run to chase after lizards. I'm hoping that it will bring some closure to have her close by. I am terribly sorry to hear this. It all happened overnight (for me, I'm in the UK) so I was unable to send purrs when they were needed.
