Mutt has cataracts... I cried...
Jinglebell has a mild cold or some such.... and tapeworms.. WTF? Tapeworms?
I feel absolutely horrible and not just a little bit embarassed. *sighs* So
a shot later, and pills (yay) we'll go back in a week.
Glitter, like a trooper, came out 100% a-ok. She purred. Freaking purred...
What happened to my antisocial grumpy cat?
Jinglebell, turned into devil's incarnate when they tried to clean his ears.
My sweet laid back, perpetually stoned and always snoozing boy.... You'd
never been able to tell. If he could have gotten ahold of skin, he would
have made sure they'd remember him.
Luna... surprisingly (I forgot) she had her annuals in October...(umm, are
you sure? yes, yes.. there's the paperwork. where was I?!?!?) So she wasn't
due. But she went anyway so hopefully it'll reduce the wierd smell issue
between them. They all smell the same ;)
Mutt's ok. We knew the cataracts were coming. Her grandmother and mother had
them. We'll watch how it goes and in a few months we may do surgery at the
University. It depends. She's been at this point for three or four years.
And they're not growing very fast at all, in the least. If they stay like
this between now and the next five years... Well by then she'd be 14 and...
ya know... If they start growing faster in the next few months, we'll keep
an eye on them and catch it. If she's in significantly good health (which
she is) we'll do surgery.
I still cried though. My first born is getting old and I'm going to lose her
too eventually. Was a hard visit.

Don't be embarrassed - tape worms are very common in the summer during flea
season (they get them by swallowing a flea when grooming).

Purrs that she won't need the surgery.

Yeah, I get teary eyed when I think about how old my Bandit is getting - but
let's just try to enjoy the time we have with them and not borrow tears from
the future!

Purrs Grace, the shortness of their lives compared to ours is so unfair.

Thanks Marina, good to see you on the mainland again :)
Mutt hasn't left my side since the accident. She's within ten feet of me
always. Except when her daddy's outside, then it's Mom! I gotta go! :)

Awww, purrs for Muttmutt. I still have a pic of her in my e-mail with
her (ahem) favorite toy. :-)
We've had a couple of doggies who've had cataract surgery, and it's not
so bad. It doesn't help the feeling of watching a beloved little
critter aging, though. Purrs to you, too.

Krista! :)
*hehe* yeah... we've upgraded to a hedgehog squeaky... or I should say
grunter because the toy has a different sound. It's all the same though..
She hasn't stopped.
*hugs*

A friend of mine had her dog's cataracts removed, and she is doing
just great.
Glad the others are (mostly) in great shape! May that continue (minus
the tapeworms, of course).
