Hi everyone! Didn't I tell you to shut up while I was away? Over 5,000
posts waiting... And now I have to start packing for my move, so don't
have time to read properly. I hope you are all well, and the cats are
purring on the island for everyone in need. We were shocked about the
news from London and hope all the catslaves there are alright.

Here are some pictures from the island. Frank sent an instalment for his
chronicles with me, so I will be posting that separately when I get the
time.

Oh my goodness! Mir looks very happy and Frank too. I cried when I saw

I'm afraid the pictures of Mir and Frank together make things seem
rosier than they were. Frank still thinks Miranda is an annoying little
brat, but on the island, she has a lot of other things to take her mind
off pestering Frank. They did get on a little better than at home,
probably because Mir spent most of her time outdoors, once she'd
ventured out.

She showed me that she is quite a smart little girl. After she had
carefully ventured out for the first time, she veeeery gradually started
exploring in larger circles around the shack where I stay on the island.
Not like her brother Emil, who immediately set off for a cross-island
sprint. :oP And at first, Mir was scared of going out on the cliffs, but
when she saw Frank go there, she followed. Same thing with going up on
the roof (the shack is very low, and there's a rock behind it that is
the height of the roof, and we have a plank going from the rock to the
roof for the cats. Here's a picture of Frank on the gangway:
http://tinyurl.com/9zq6y. Nikki's in the background).

But it was when Mir discovered TREES that she really came to life. She
loves racing up a little bit, then jumping down, zooming to another
tree, and racing up that. I've only seen her climb really high that
once, when I took the pictures, and even then she came down on her own.

Welcome back Marina!!! Don't worry about reading most of it, a bunch of
trolls invaded the group and refuse to leave.

Great shots! It looks like Mere did just fine out there.

Yes, I've seen that now. Tsk tsk tsk.

She did great. I just hope she's doing OK now, when I'm not there to
look after her. She did proceed to wrap her Grandmeowmie firmly around
her little paw from day one, so I'm sure my Mum is taking excellent care
of her, aided by my sister.

What a beautiful place it is there. Good luck with the packing!
BTW - fortunately all we London catslaves escaped harm, thanks for

Welcome back!  Lovely pics!

When you have a chance to look at the posts, you may notice many of
them are unpleasantness that spilled over from rpch+b.  Yes, while you
were away we were infested with trolls (more persistant than fleas!).
The infection is mostly cleared up by now, thank goodness.

Speaking of flea infections, we had a terribly *fly* infestation on the
island last week. Apparently, it was due to the good mushroom year we
had last year, when lots of flies apparently hatched in mushrooms. Now
they were just sitting sround, trying to conserve energy, and waiting
for new mushrooms to lay their eggs in. They were really annoying,
because unlike usual flies, who fly away when you wave a hand near them,
these just sat around. You could kill five of them with one well-aimed
hit with the fly-swatter. Luckily, they disappeared as suddenly as they
had appeared. Don't know where they went, it's much too dry for any
mushrooms to grow.

Thanks, Suz, I missed you all, too. The kits did seem very happy on the
island. There was so much for Mir to explore, and meanwhile, Frank got
his well-deserved nap time in peace.

Marina!  It's good to see you back - I'm back too!  Quite a few people
who haven't posted in a while are back, because of a recent infestation
in the newsgroup.  I think you'll find that an awful lot of the 5,000
posts aren't worth reading.  ;-)

Lovely pics - it looks like both your little darlings had a good time.
And Nikki's rosebush is beautiful.  I know she would approve.

Waffles, you should have been on the bus with us. Frank regaled us with
his singing *all the way* without pause for three hours! Miranda has no
appreciation for his fine talent, as she just slept the whole way (to
the great relief of her human companions). Frank finally fell asleep on
the boat, obviously exhausted after such a lengthy concert.

Happily, no-one seemed annoyed, but I did get a lot of looks and people
giggling at us. Especially when Frank let out one of his deep throaty notes.

Ah, the serenades! My little Bandit does that on his way anywhere in the
car (luckily not on the way home) and I never cease to be appalled and
astonished at the volume of Siamesee angry wailing he can come out with.
If I remember I wear ear defenders even for the 10 min journey to TED's.

BTW I was also deeply moved by the pic of Nikki's commemorative bush.
Pericles' Hebe (under which he's buried) made a lovely display back in
May but I was too sad to take a picture of it. Both Bandit & Snowball
like to spend time meatloafed under it & I often wonder if they
appreciate the significance.

On a happier note, I should be taking delivery of Claudius the Tiffanie
Kitten at around the time you receive young Leo.
Perhaps they could be e-buddies, one hoolikitten (as I have no doubt
they'll be) to another?

Much enjoyed the tentative signs of F & M's improving relationship.

Purrs for your move etc.

I'm sure they understand on some level. The wild rose where I scattered
Nikki's ashes is pretty far from our shack, and Frank doesn't go that far.

Ooh, saw the pictures. He has that gleam in his eyes! I think he spells
trouble. I'm sure Leo (or whatever his name will be) will be happy to
have a partner in crime.

I'm hoping that I can get an instant connection - there's an ISP that
offers a connection through cable TV, though I don't have the foggiest
