I happened to be looking out of the kitchen window the other day when I saw
the side view of a cat coming through the fence from next door, 3/4 acre and
the house is empty.  Boyfriend on rat patrol, I thought, it was just like
him.
The cat turned right away from me and went down the path.  Something in the
way he walked (yes, song!) and the way he carried his tail told me that this
wasn't BF.
Then he turned round and looked back towards me.  His head was marked
slightly differently and the width of it was massive.  Obviously an intact
tom.  He meatloafed near the woodheap on rat patrol himself.

I like to think I met Boyfriend's father.  I haven't seen him before or
since.

Sounds like a good bet. Interesting you haven't seen him except the one
time!

A good guess at any rate. I wonder if he was thinking  "Eh, she went and
NEUTERED that boy of mine! Now he's just lap fungus, and a pampered house
cat!" =o) j/k
