wafflycat - 20 Jul 2005 15:15 GMT I'm having a break from the vegging-out session on sofa watching current stage of Tour de France... Watching all of those perfectly toned male rears in close-fitting Lycra cycle shorts is exhausting ;-)
Anyhow, whilst I was sat on sofa, a striped cat joined me and positined himself on my lap so his back was rested againt my middle, as he sat, belly-up. He had his front paws curled over my hand for support and he just zonked off there... Apparently the sight of Andreas Kloden does not have the effect on him that it does on me ;-)
Cheers, helen s
Hopitus - 20 Jul 2005 15:57 GMT Heh...bicycle butts don't do it for me (yawn) - however: in about a month, the tight butt-hugging uniforms worn by our Broncos (football) will snap me to attention, and unlike that Lance dude, the Broncs don't always look snarly in photos.....messy, sweaty, maybe, but not snarly LOL. Thank God Jake lost the chin hair!

Thank God Jake lost the chin hair! Give me a cyclist over a football player any day ... and actually, give me a gymnast or a swimmer over either!
Ahem ...
Growing up in DC, we were of course required to be Redskins fans, but mom had a soft spot for the Cowboys. She called them "Silberne Aersche," or "silver a.ses"! No question why she was a fan ...
Signature monique, who spoils Oscar unmercifully

She called them "Silberne > Aersche," or "silver a.ses"! No question why she was a fan ... None of the above does it for me. Sorry but I just don't get into guys in tight pants. Makes me think they should be doing pirouettes or at the very least, Shakespeare.
And if you've ever been "hit on" by an old, overweight and way out of his league former Dallas Cowboy who thought a superbowl ring was his ticket to glory you'd feel like I do about it... go away, boy, you bother me ;)
Jill <--still shuddering about Charlie Waters

Theresa, who thinks Shakespeare is really sexy.

I love guys in tights dancing or sword fighting. (Zefferelli's 'Romeo & Juliet' is one of my favourite films.) I loved watching Mickhail Barishnikov dance, and Alexander Gudenov, as well.
I just don't happen to care for guys who think crashing into each other (football, rugby, whatever) while wearing tight pants and shoulder pads is sexy. I also didn't appreciate being "hit on" by a fat old fart who was in the superbowl when I was 7 years old; I was supposed to be impressed by a big ol' ring ;) You had to be there. He was really obnoxious. He literally turned my chair around and pulled me between his legs. Oh no, you did NOT just do that!

> Jill Hopitus - 20 Jul 2005 20:05 GMT Pirouettes? The Broncos? Jill, I forgive you for that (image formulating in my head) and I see why you don't like football. OTOH me and my girlfriend were, years ago, hit on by a fat old fart who had won NASCAR races for years (we're talking 60's here) and his friends when we were up in Daytona for the Firecracker 400......(I was not into football then). In Joyce's '59 Impala (the good ole "cat-eye" tail-lights, remember?) we actually outrun their car and lost 'em up in Ormond Beach after a long chase. This encounter, however, did not turn me against car racing. I am almost the exact same age as Big Daddy Garlits, whom we used to drive up to where DisneyWorld is now to watch in near-darkness in the swampland then (Ocoee) as he began his long-standing drag-top-fuel records (both of us: me and Don were 17 then). We sat on our car hoods and when the cops came (rarely) there was a "lights out - no noise" till they left. Never caught us nor the drag racers (naturally they were not running top-fuel nitro rigs in the swamp, just street rods).

She was actually on the edge of her seat during one superbowl. We used to teas her about the "tight ends" :D

Hans Schrøder - 20 Jul 2005 16:05 GMT > Apparently the sight of Andreas Kloden does not have the effect on him > that it does on me ;-) > > Cheers, helen s Then it must be sad for you to know thad Klöden had to give up at 1205 today (Central European Time), due to a broken wrist. He broke it yesterday, but tried to start this morning.
But I guess there are plenty of others you can watch and enjoy there...
Two Norwegians up for points today, Kurt Asle Arvesen and Thor Hushovd (the one in the green shirt...)

Hopitus - 20 Jul 2005 16:10 GMT Then "Go, Thor!" (I like his name). Who cares what his butt looks like?

And of course Arvesen rides for CSC, Nathan's favourite team... Needless to say Nathan is more than best pleased that he now owns a Cervelo!
