This seems like maybe a good time to post about the cats.

Tigger is the neighbors' seven month old kitten; he spends a lot of
time at our office hanging out with our lawcat Ozzy, with whom he is
best buddies.  We are the ones who have twice taken Tigger to TED,
though, and he has NOT forgotten.  About half the time when we hold out
a hand he'll come rub his little face on it; the other half of the time
he shies away.  Today, though, I walked through the door and suddenly
was wearing an orange stripey kitten around my ankle.  Ambush!  I'm
glad he's getting over his wariness of us, and hope it lasts past the
next TED visit, but he did clash terribly with my red skirt.  :-)

Ozzy likes to stand on his back legs in the chair in front of the
typewriter, plant his front paws on the spacebar, and watch the
carriage go to the end.  Naturally I hit the return key for him so he
can do it again.

Saturday is housework day, and it's Hubert's busiest day of the week.
He works very, very hard on Saturdays helping his mommy - he helps me
dust, change sheets, clean bathrooms, fold laundry, water houseplants,
and even helps me vacuum.  He is an extremely reliable kitten.  By
early afternoon when I stop and pet him for a minute his eyes start to
droop because he's sooooo tired, but as soon as I move Helpful Hubert
is right there.  Helping.  *sigh*

Tallulah and Hubert originally weren't allowed on the kitchen table or
counters, mostly because they both needed worming.  More than one round
of worming.  We decided to go on as we'd begun, and they both know that
they're not supposed to get up there.  They do it anyway, of course,
but their reactions to getting caught are different.  Hubert will look
at me guiltily and *hurry* to investigate whatever had interested him
before jumping down and dashing away before I can reach for him.  Lula
sits prettily and looks at me with big, innocent eyes, pretending to
have no idea what I mean when I say "get down" and I actually have to
go pick her up and put her down on the floor.  Silly cats.   ;-)

Fourteen pounds ago, Hubie could walk along the upper edge of the
laundry basket without tipping it over.  He's *frequently* surprised by
the fact that he can't still do this.

Helpful Hubert is pretty big, too, no?  Got any recent pics?

Um.  I am working on filling up a hyoooge memory card in my camera,
which will probably take years to upload.  Maybe we will all live to
see more pics of Hubie and Lula, but it may be something our
grandchildren will have to look forward to.   ;-)

Haha. Sugar has this look down Pat. She has even learned to distinguish when
I am *actually* going to get up to a feint that I am going to get up,
resulting in my having to get up frequently if she is annoying the blinds.
The sole purpose of banging the blinds, I've come to learn, is to get me to
get up.

Heh.  This is why I buy the el cheapo venetian blinds, so that I don't
mind just replacing them when they've seen too much kittycat action.
