Breach of Promise, Dan,

Along with libel, now. I have documented proof that you promised to pick
Conan up, and that you contracted with me to do it, then went back on your
word. I have the email where you offered me your cell phone number--and
where I asked if I might call you after you picked Conan up,and you
encouraged me to, when you had no intention of  letting us know that you had
picked him up. This was the only time I called you, and I can prove it. Best
of all, I have witnesses for all of this, and phone records, too.

You have admitted to lying, too.

Due to the emotional pain I have suffered due to my concern about this cat,
whom I have no proof was not euthanized or turned  over to a lab, I think I
have grounds for a suit. In any case, I've got some mad money laying around,
so lets have some fun. We will add libel, since you have suggested that I
made some sort of threatening telephone calls that I can prove I did not.
Then we will discuss your unwarranted attacks on my character--in particular
your suggestion that a mere figure of speech--in the context of an obvious
joke-- was a physical threat. I do not threaten people, Dan. I do not break
the law. In fact, it is my responsibility to uphold the law.

Or, you could just tell me why you lied to us all. You could even do it
privately. That is all I really want from you. Tell me the truth, and you
will not hear another word from me. Or don't, and get ready to play ball.
We'll take it to court, do everything all nice and legal. This is not a
threat at all--it is a promise--your just reward for lying to those who
trusted you.

You should not be allowed to lie to good people who trust you, and harm a
poor little cat that you said you would rescue, without being held
responsible for your actions. I am sufficiently upset to take it to court
now, since you will not even offer a reason why you did this.
I work hard. Everybody needs a hobby. You just became mine.
whitershadeofpale - 19 Jul 2005 20:12 GMT
Oh my goodness!

Mary, I think you should think this through, don't you think you're
being a little harsh!

I don't think anyone knew just how upsetting this was to you until now.
If I was Dan, I would comply with your reasonable request, and then let
it go.

Before this gets ugly.

ROFL ROFL ROFL...

Mary has spewed and frothed deranged lunatic opinions from the get go. All
Dan has to do is print out half of her posts and walk away whistling.

Newsflash, kennels in a vet clinic *are* considered safe environments Mary.
Whether you agree or not.

He lied to you possibly because he determined you were unhinged. Not hard to
prove, regarding the number of posts and newsgroups present.

Go ahead and I'm sure he'll be able to counter with harassment, stalking and
a couple others.

I did, I did!!! HOLY COW!!!

(I've never not top posted.. bad Gracie but RPCA seems forgiving on that)

For those that *are* interested, Karma in RPCHB has taken an overwhelmingly
amount of time to produce years worth of trollings from someone we know as
Mary, spanning more than just us. Sounds like she was ready to go off and
Dan just happened to be the one in her reach.

It was spoooooky!!

We have so many corn fields around here.  Tomorrow, we're headed to our lake
house for five/six days.  When we pass the fields, what do you think we'll
say?

"Corn!  Corn, corn, corn!!"

Me either!  And I never *dreamed* there were people who actually study
trolls and newsgroups - but I guess Usenet *is* a whole new facet of our
global society!

Hmmmm....  and you changed your nym to pop outta my killfile in THIS thread.
How bizarre...  and how spooky.  Sleep over with Mary, CNp'd?  I mean,
considering YOU cross posted 1,000 times and egged on and still eggs on
peeps in a group that we'd rather NOT associate with...

I'll say it again.  How bizarre.

*YOU* are bizarre, Laurie.  I've used the same pseudonym since 1997 and the
same email address for the last 5 years!  *AND* I never cross posted "1,000
times".  I have *NO* idea what you are talking about, but I'd sure like some
of what you're smoking!  ;>

There is a nuanced difference, which some fail to make, between
cross-posting and posting crossly.  Indeed, it is not unreasonable to
argue that making a single post to a Christian group could be considered
a Cross post.

Without looking through 80,000 groups, there must be one for pen
collectors; I know there is at least one on calligraphy.  Could there
not be a debate about the merits of Cross pens over, say Montblanc,
which clearly would be yet another form of Cross posting.

If one chose to talk about writing Sunday school lessons with a Cross
pen, that could result in a Double-Cross posting. Certainly, true crime
and clandestine operations groups are much concerned with
double-crosses. Indeed, the WWII British group that doubled German spies
was identified as "XX", and the equivalent US organization was X2. Both
refer to doublecrossed spymasters.

Vernon uses Cross pens. The other week he nagged and nagged me to get a
Cross refill for one of them. I did and he darned well hasn't used it. I am
very cross about this.

This is a cross posting!

Cheers, helen s ;-)

I have it on good authority that every single post David Cross makes to
usenet is a crosspost.  Scary!

Now, would the study of trolls on USENET be a matter of sociology or
Psychology?  Or would it be a study of urban mythology?  Inquiring minds
want to know.

Pam S. who has an inquiring mind.

This is actually part of a much larger area of work. Howard Rheingold's
book _Virtual Communities_ is a good survey.

In practice, there's much work on how effective collaboration goes over
the net.  When I was at Nortel, my two major colleagues were in Boston,
my manager in Ottawa, one colleague outside London, and several in
Stockholm.  Now, this is at a more responsible (in the sense of
non-anonymous) form of communication than Usenet, but still
Internet-enabled.

What you were "after"?  Who the eff are you, the mob???? (Heh...  like they
would have you).  "Your friend, Dan"?  Ya THINK you'll get a Christmas card
from him this year, dummy?  Who owes you the tea in china or the neighbor's
time of day?  After KARMA told us alllll about you, Nancy Carter, I would
think you would wanna go far, far, far away.  YOU harrassed a very good man.
And it wasn't for what he did, or did NOT tell you.  It's because it's what
you do.  DAN SMELLED YOU OUT LIKE YESTERDAY'S LITTERBOX!!!  He chose to walk
away from you "for some reason".  Was he right, Nancy Carter?  I think so.
And before you back pedal with ONE sickening post (again), tell me this...
does it feel good to coax teens into actually carrying through with their
suicidal thoughts?  I mean, DO YOU KNOW HOW IT FEELS to walk in a room and
see someone dead *after* they've been coaxed by a "Nancy Carter"?????

YOU, my effed up non-friend, are a whack job/retardo/fuckwhitofthefinest.
YOU are KNOWN now as a nobody who tries to fit in, and then throws a big
wah-wah tantrum on the Usenet, followed up by a curtsy-bow apology.  LOL...
well, no good anymore, you ugly, nasty piece of pond scum.

The next time you discuss going through w/suicide to anyone, I would hope
it's in the mirror to Nancy, Celeste AND Something about Mary....
