Our cats each have their own favourite types of toy (hence the vast
quantity in our house!).
Fudge likes large fur mice with long tails, and Rosie rats
Caramel likes small fur mice, and a crinkly ladybug toy
Meg likes those promotional bugs (the small fluffy ball with a ribbon
advertising things with feet).
All of them like the laser pointer and paper bags (we brought back from
holiday a paper sack from a US supermarket specially for them - well
trained aren't we :) )
Are everyone elses cats as particular about the toys they like?

Sugar loves twisties (like you tie bread up with) and fur balls. She's been
particularly active lately. This morning I even found a red furball out of
the basket. She was running around at 4 a.m. like a nut. Usuallly she only
plays with the white ones. Pearl likes newspaper.

Weeble likes His Purple Puffball. This is an older puffball that is fairly
solid and rolls & bounces very nicely, he mrrps, chrrps and sings to it when
he plays with it. We have some newer puffballs, but he ignores them.
Mimi likes twisties, milk rings and chasing her tail ;-P. And paper (she
eats it <ick>). And the laser pointer
Moe likes bottlecaps - plays "fetch" with them - the best are the metal caps
off beer bottles (they make more noise), and the laser pointer.
Ernie likes bugs, and wrestling with Ping, and the laser pointer
Ping likes to chase himself (literally, when there's what sounds like a
thundering herd of heffalumps going through the house, I look and it's just
Ping, chasing himself), and wrestling with Ernie.
Lizzie used to like chasing bottlecaps like Moe does now, but lately she
just likes to go after the laser pointer (if I can keep the other kitties
away from her).
Tennessee likes the bed LOL
Smokey likes chasing Pounce treats (or any other food that can be tossed out
like that, and then puked up later).
They all like the "Alpine Scratcher" - we have 2 of them, and we've replaced
the inserts now 3x. They are now being held together with duct tape, and one
of them is missing the dangly toy from inside the "cave". Both are chewed
on all esposed corners and edges.

Heidi is particular, not about *what* toy she plays with, but
about *where* we play. If I make a move that indicates it's
play time (she does very little playing on her own), she goes
immediately to the cellar door, which is kept ajar so she can go
down cellar when she wishes to, and says, "Push it under here,
Paw!" Naturally, she only wants the ones that fit under the
door, such as strings, straws and wisps of paper.

When we were in the truck Harri used to really a like a few catnip mice.
One in particular - a large purple one - was her favorite for a while, but
she lost interest in it after a few weeks.
Ranger has now discovered Harri's road toys. That large purple mouse has
nnow become Ranger's favorite toy. I frequently see Ranger carrying that
big mouse through the house, occasionally dropping it, pawing at it, and
bunny-kicking it.

Brenna likes a lot of different kinds of toys, and she goes through
phases where one toy is the absolute best ever. However, she will
always play with the furry toy mice - but not the long-haired ones.

Djoser, at the grand age of 13, still loves to wrestle a throw rug.
Either that, or he discovers greeblings in them!
All three cats love The Feathered Flyer and the leather thong dangled
by a hoomin.
Robin has invisible toys; unless he is chasing flying greeblings. He
can all of a sudden tear through the house and bounce off the plastic
curtain by the fridge, which is now fringed, with a wild look in his
eyes. Then he will all of a sudden start walking nonchalantly with an
innocent expression on his face. Silly cat getting his exercise.

Miranda's absolute favourite toy is a short length of rope (it used to
have feathers at one end, but there are only stumps left). She has
played with it since she was big enough to run, and my niece gave it
with her when I fetched Mir home. Her second favourite is any piece of
string. She's dug out a lot of shoestrings somewhere. It's funny how she
carries the rope or string: she takes one end in her mouth, then she
sets off, looking backwards all the time at the other end following her.
Very, very cute. She brings them to me to drag around and then throw for
her, so she can fetch it and look at it following her.
Frank likes any stuffed animal. He doesn't play so much as groom them to
death. He also likes very small things, like a piece of cat litter or
other little speck to bat around. And q-tips! I'm afraid he'll eat the
cotton, though.

Hee hee. My little Mimi stole a fabric belt from an old red dress of
mine, and used to drag it around. She also used to like to charge
around with one end of it in her mouth, and the rest of it streaming
behind her.

We had a long thick shoelace that Grant did this with until he was about
two. It's the cutest thing. He would drag it for Sugar to play with
sometimes too.
