It has now been two months since we've been on the road, so Harri Roadcat
has had some adjusting to do. She no longer gets me all to herself, she is
no longer the only kitty in the picture, and she can no longer ignore all
other people and cats.

Initially she was a little unsure if she wanted to make the adjustments -
she was a bit of a grump to the other kitties, and she wouldn't let
anybody but me pet her. But she has been slowly adjusting, until now she
has make a complete adjustment. She no longer growls at any kitty that
gets too close, she doesn't growl while eating any more, and she enjoys
playing with all of her sisters and brothers.

However, she still was hesitant to come into the bedroom. She seemed to
consider that the domain of the cats who were there before her. She had
been making occasional visits into the bedroom righat bedtime or in the
morning, but would never jump up on the bed - until yesterday.

When I got out of the shower last night Harri decided that she wanted to
try being a shoulder kitty. I guess she figured that if Amelia and Tabitha
can do it, so can she. So she hopped onto the towel I had draped over my
shoulders and began grooming my hair. She then allowed me to take her into
the bedroom, where she jumped down onto the bed. And when I came to bed,
she took her place at the top of my pillow. She had been a pillow kitten a
couple of times out in the truck, in the first week she was with me, but
not since. It was wonderful! I'm going to encourage her to be a pillow
kitty as often as she feels like it.

We still do occasional nightwalks, but due to RL circumstances haven't
been able to take our road trip yet. It's now looking like we can finally
take a road trip in 4 or 5 more weeks.

A house is not a home, without a cat.

What a great kitty.  She's brought so much happiness to you all,
bless her heart.  And yours too.  I hope you have a good road trip
when you get to do it.  You'll both have a blast!!

Awwww... what a good girl! Thanks for the update, I'm so happy to hear
she's doing well and adapting to a non-road life. :)

Well, you have to allow that she's going to be a bit jealous having to share
her Paw!  I'm glad she's feeling better.

Piggybacking, hope you don't mind, Lori.  I'm so pleased to read that Harri
is doing so well.  Also amused by her headnaps, and have my own little
update.

Tanada and I are GOWs (Grouchy Old Women) together.  However, we have a sort
of grudging respect for each other as well.  Today I woke up to find myself
facing Rob, with Tanada sleeping between us.  She was draped over a gooshy
pillow, with her back half tucked up against Rob's back and her front half
facing me.  I was sleeping with my right hand resting on my left bicep.
Tanada's head was resting on my right forearm and her paws were crossed and
resting on my left forearm.

Even us GOWs can have a peaceful moment or three.

Nice to hear that Harri is feeling more "At home" in a home that doesn't
move. =o) Getting used to ONE other cat would be quite daunting. Getting
used to a HOUSEFUL is something else. Sounds like Harri has made remarkably
fast progress, Dan. =o)
