DH has had a bad back so hence the entrance of the Lawnmower Man. He
whipped around the lawn and did the edges while '3 you know whos'
investigated his van. He offered to take away any extra rubbish so van
and trailer were soon full.
I paid him, he departed, then a while later I checked on the '3 you know
whos'. You guessed it, two turned up but Clyde was missing.
I began to put two and two together, a nosey cat, a trailer and van that
were going several kilometres to the dump. OMG. I could see the
scenario unfolding, Clyde would be in heaven for a while - until he
figured out that there was no Bonnie at the dump.
I rang the LM Man. "Did you see a grey blue Burmese on your trailer or
in your van', I tried to explain the situation but my voice was rising
in panic."The cats like getting in vehicles" I said, "They are Burmese
you know." He didn't know, and why should he, travelling Burmese are
legendary only to people associated with them.
The panic was infectious, the poor LM Man scooted out to his van to
investigate but it was too late, he had already been to the dump and
there was no sign of a cat.
After a another couple of hours I began thinking of taking a drive to
the dump. I had a horrible vision of myself searching around the
mounds of rubbish and calling loudly,"Clyde Clyde." The dump is
dreadful, smelly and germ laden. Poor Clyde, well at least he would
have plenty of rats to eat I reasoned weakly.
Before I departed I took one more feverish look around the section. No
sign of him. I got in the car and something said "Meow". It seemed to
be coming from the sky. I looked up. Clyde was sitting on the roof of
the house. He must have been up there for hours investigating something
or other. I hadn't looked up there. Sigh.

My dad had a friend who was a trucker and one day he dropped by to
chat. He left his truck door open and our cat Vedette jumped up and
made herself at home on the passenger seat. Larry said goodbye, got
back in his truck and was driving out our lane when Vedette started to
snuggle him. All we saw was the truck slamming on the brakes, the door
opening, and a black-and-orange streak flying out.

When I drove a delivery van I made a point of checking for cats befrore
I left. I never found one, but on several occasions I found footprints
where one had been.

A house is not a home, without a cat.

Bev, I can"t recall if you have blonde hair or going gray, but if haven't
gone gray yet I swear those '3' will soon drive you to it.
However, we are all very glad that everyone is fine and not missing.
