I told this already, but thought I'd share it here.

I have a cat named Ruprecht. He is a large male tabby. Most of my neighbors
think he is a hybrid dog of some sort.

Ruprecht loves to munch!

One night this winter past, we were going to bed and I stopped to check my
news reader.

When I stopped, he stopped (in the middle of the floor)...we kind of
eyeballed each other

He was trying to read me, to see if he had time to get in one more snack
before snuggling in.

It was cute as a pail of kittens! Well that's my story, I thought it was
funny.

---

Mean Time!

---

I gave Ruprecht a bath a couple of days ago, two of them!

The second one (a day later), was even easier.

I have an old claw foot tub so the spigot is

Just a small nipple, I put a length of hose on it. The hose has a plain

Cut end, which gives a soft flow of water.

He loved it! And the more I bathed him, the more relaxed he got.

I leave the tub drain open, so water doesn't pool up.

I set the temp to what feels better than warm to my wrist

(Knowing that cats run hotter than us) and during the bath, I nudge the hot
up a tad.

I've never seen so much hair in a drain.

What a patient kitty he is.  Next time put a hairbrush over the drain.  It
will help prevent a clog.   MLB

Thanks for the tip MLB

I see nobody else liked my damn story.

Hey it's a tad better than that other poster telling about a cat
stretching

haha

I had to go under my house this morning, and disconnect the s trap,
and run a drain snake through it...tooo much hair.
I shoulda known better

I'm curious as to why you bathe your cat?  I've never bathed mine.  Am I
missing something?

Everybody knows you give a cat a bath.
They get all covered in cat spit.

You never washed your cat? Come'on!

Another reason, for real, I pet him all the time, he gets to looking
kind of ghetto, and just needs a bath. He also prows at night, at least
around these two houses.

You've never seen your cats so shiny after they dry off and fluff up.
And soooooft, you can barely feel their hair when you pet them.

I mean, I don't powder his tail or nothing, lol, I just flip him on out
the tub wet, give him a kick start with a dry towel, and off he goes.

He has a cool name, very characterful, like its owner by the sound of
it. I also liked the stories! Though I can only imagine the carnage if I
tried to run a hose of warm water over any of mine.

No carnage at my end, just a very wet, indignant cat, asking me what the
hell I thought I was doing, spraying them with water!

Actually Nina might put up with a bath, she's fascinated with water. She
loves to watch me watch the dishes. She has this wistful look on her face as
if to say "I wish I were a dish.."

Yes, mee too woo woo

That's funny, I wish, I wish, I wish I were a dish.

You folk are silly. I know that not all of you are mean spirited.

I don't like mean people.

Must be more civilised than mine! Insult would rapidly turn to injury I
think.

No, life's too short for that. But not too short for rattlesnake
recipes. And why does it go raw after it's been cooked? Enquiring minds
want to know... Not that there are many round here, but you never know.

I don't know about the rattlesnake, A chef told me this. We was eating
rattlesnake, and he tells us it goes raw in the fridge and needs to be
re-cooked, there are other things, certain fish, I think eel and blow
fish.

I'd like to know too.

Ah! Ruprecht is super chill.
The water hose is super quiet. the stream is thick and fat, with no
aeration.
The tub is empty; so this takes stress off of him too.

He is a lucky guy; his slave has thought about his needs very carefully.
