Stanley has an interesting little personality trait that he has made
apparent from the day we adopted him and his brother, Captain.
Once you've petted him, or skritched him on the head, when you turn and
walk away he usually pounces on your foot. Sometimes he just delivers a
bap to your toes. Other times, like this morning, it's a full-fledged
tackle. I went to walk up the steps and suddenly I had a stripey, fuzzy,
purring ankle bracelet hanging onto my foot with both front legs.
I think his intent is to say, "Hey! You were doting on me and I was
enjoying it! Come back here!" He knows he can get a laugh and an extra
skritch out of the deal, so I suspect he's going to keep doing it. :o)
He hasn't gone into toe-monster mode to guests yet, but I suspect the day
is coming. Particularly since I have a cat-loving friend who's hoping to
visit for a weekend in the fall.
We'll just have to forewarn her and/or any others who come to visit, so
they know to expect a bap on their foot when they turn their attention
from fussing over Stanley to doing something else.

Oooo -- piccies of this would be cute! Our silly black boycat, Robin, tries
to grab my toes when I'm sitting on the sofa; trouble is he hasn't ever
gotten the drift of retracting his claws, so he is the one cat whose claws
get trimmed regularly!

Yep, Persia does this too. "Why did you stop?! Come back here, you wench!
Must have more kitty scritches!"
