We have finally 'bonded' and are now playing, sleeping, roaming comfortably!
I knew that this was possible--but wasn't sure that I would be able to get my
new brood adjusted after adopting them from the humane society.
Even my tortie jumps in my lap now--only if George is in it--and jumps on the
bed for me to bet her and curls up on my feet!
Whooooohoooo! Everyone kept telling me it would take time--but I wasn't so
sure with the multiple issues we were having.
It's awesome to see three cats sitting around me all curious and interested.
Even in their play they support each other and work as a team.
Kewl!
Whoooohooo!
Have Fun,
Jen

Terrific news. Is Girlie eating better too?

Oh ye of little faith! Didn't we tell you it would work out? Have a great
time with your kitties now, kudos to you for rescuing them and tolerating
the integration process.

Thank you all! LOL For a while--this last three months--was beginning to
wonder if I was a cat-meowmy at all! I thought I was doing poorly by/for
them. And, it all seemed to click into place in a single day. Not sure
exactly what the turn around was--especially considering Spot had just had
dental surgery and Girly just returned from being fostered for two weeks--but
thank God!
Girly is eating better--I switched all the cats over to Evo--and dry food
only. They all seemed to be perking up, coats looking fuller and shiny, and
over-all demeanor seems much better for all the cats.
I just finished using the Bach Flower Essence-Aspen for two weeks in their
water--I feel that ths helped a lot. I think they were spurring each other
on with their perspective issues. I have not noticed a decline of any sort
since I quit using it.
Girly doesn't feel bony now. I could feel each bone--I about fell over when
I noticed this. Last night I was petting her and realized that I wasn't
feeling bones--whooohoo! She even scurries past me now to eat--and for the
first time is venturing out during the day once-or twice to eat--whooohoooo!
If I look at her she slinks away--but I would only intentionally look half
the time because I wanted her to get to know that it was safe with me around.
That a 'look' is only a 'look'.
Girly is a long and tall cat--though you don't notice it til you see her
stretched out--and her nature is probably a bit thin anyway. She had gotten
down to 7 lbs., grrrrrr. Spot is 14 lbs (not fat--just a big boy) and George
is 12 lbs. I would like to see girly get as big as George--but the foster
mom said that if she got up to 8 lbs--that that would probably be good for
her. She is quite strong though and quite the Goddess Huntress at night--she
is beautiful to watch.
My job ended last Sunday night--so I have been home at nights and been able
to play with them when they are awake. This has been a fabulous time for all
of us. Spot even wakes up enough to play--though he doesn't seek me out like
the other two cats do--he is more active. I was going to sleep the other
night and woke up to Spot cruising and sniffing everything--which I have
never seen him do. He is a big and tall boy--and his fur is as lusterous as
a rabbit's now--quite beautiful.
I even got the cats to play with me for about an hour yesterday around 2:00 p.
m. and this is quite unusual as this is usually prime sleeping time.
Whoooohooooo!
They all look healthy, happy, content, and perked up--thank God!
Sincerely,
Jen

I am glad everyone has realized that they are all family now :)
It is simply a matter of realizing that their territories are shared,
and that the others are not intruders, nor are they intruding on
someone else.
