This is my first time asking for purrs. We're cat sitting my best
friends 5 cats and one of them has gone missing. He's the only sick
one and hasn't had his medication today, he's never gone missing before
and we're really worried. Have called the vet, and the vet hospital
and knocked on all the neighbours door to no avail. He hates taking
his tablets and think he might have legged it because of this but we're
in the middle of a heatwave, and if he's got stuck in a shed/garage
without water which he drinks lots of due to his kidneys, he's in big
trouble. Our friends are due back tomorrow night an we haven't called
them as there's nothing they can do anyway. We're going back again
tonight to see if he's returned, if's so unlike him not to come home
for food. Wish me luck, poos George, he's my favourite of the brood
too.

A house is not a home, without a cat.

Purrs for you and the cat.
Are you absolutely certain he isn't hiding in the house? A cat-sitting
friend of mine thought Betsy have vanished until she searched the house.
(Betsy doesn't like humans much; she tends to keep out of their way.)

Dear Marcia,
Every time I've seen someone ask for purrs for goodness to prevail, it has
happened. So yes, it's definitely worth it. Purrs and prayers that George
shows up for dinner tonight.

Can you leave out a bowl of water in a shaded area just in case he returns
when you're not there?

Purrs on the way. How did George get out? Do they have a cat-flap? If
not, George might be hiding really well in the house somewhere. I hope you
find George very soon.

Wishing you much luck. This is why we have to board ours when we go
anywhere. They get to go out but we watch them pretty closely. But we do
understand the risk involved. And there would be such bad feelings if
something were to happen to them and someone else was watching them. And
not reasonable to expect a petsitter to be able to keep them from escaping.
So I've made reservations for their delux suite when we take our next trip.
We used to be able to get rooms for less than that.

Sending you purrs that George shows up soon. Is there someone who can
stay in their house to keep an eye out for him? Also unless they have a
catflap I would search the house for him as he might just be hiding.

Purrs that he's home and taking his meds by this time.
On a side note, a couple years ago I drove out to California to visit
family at Christmas, leaving a neighbor looking out after LB and
Sammy. About the day I left to come back, LB disappeared. This was
back when LB was an Inside/Outside cat (Sammy has always been strictly
inside, only going out with supervision). Anyway, my neighbor was
pretty frantic, checking all over the neighborhood. Since I was
already on the rode coming back there was no way he could get in touch
with me. I arrived home after midnight, and as I was unloading the
truck and carrying everything inside LB came up and was waiting on the
patio. I wasn't even though that I hadn't let her slip out as I was
carrying things in, so didn't think anything of it. Next morning my
neighborcame over to explain that LB was missing. As he's knocking on
the door he sees LB sitting in the bedroom window looking out at him
;-)
