Samson loves his mousies. Samson is an oversized black cat that bears
a remarkable resemblance to a panther. The funny thing is the mousies
are all pink. He won't play with any other color mousie.
He loves killing them so much that he plays fetch with them. I toss
them. He chases them down, wacks them across the floor, kills them,
and returns them to me so I can toss them again. Imagine a miniature
black panther toting neon pink mousies directly towards you and you
will understand why I keep tossing them for him.
Sometimes he plays alone. I love watching him pretend the mouse
moved. A glance at it ("Did that mouse just move?."), turn away, look
back again ("I think it moved.") , turn the head a little to one side
("Yes, it definitely moved!"), puff the fur all out and stand on hind
legs to look bigger, then pounce!

Hi Debra

If you love panthercats, have a look at Aries (1st album),
now at RB for 12 years. He particularly adored a catnip-filled
Santa's Redandwhite Boot (kindly given to him by a friend from
the USA visiting us in Wimbledon, SW London) and kept it for
years: even though old & scruffy & soggy I could never bear to
throw it away. It's even buried with him under a young Beech tree.

Maybe my Samson is a re-incarnation of Aries. They look exactly
alike.

Samson evidently knows pink mousies are not a boy type toy so he
always drops them before I can get a good shot. Then he stops playing
until I put away the camera. I really need a video camera so I can
set it up in secret.
